After a long weekend, I ended my Sunday night in one of the best ways....I rented The Ultimate Gift and watched it with my daughter. I wasn't sure what to expect. I honestly have not heard a lot about this movie. This is a movie that we will remember for a long time!
The Ultimate Gift is a best-selling story that keeps giving.
After his extremely wealthy grandfather dies, trust fund "brat" Jason Stevens expects a big inheritance (along with everyone else in his family). Instead, his grandfather gives him a much needed crash course on life and twelve tasks, actually "gifts" - that challege Jason in what seems like impossible ways, sending him on an amazing journey of self-discovery (thank goodness) and forcing him to determine what is really MOST important in life.
This well-done film brings you hope and tears. This is a much needed film in today's time and I am so grateful to have shared it with one of my children. Truly amazing story and acting!
Abigail Breslin (LIttle Miss Sunshine) plays Emily and boy does she offer an exceptional performance. Drew Fuller stars as Jason Stevens and he really pulls this role off. In the beginning you'll hate him but he'll grow on you, no doubt. Ali Hillis plays Emily's mother, Alexia, and she is pretty, charming, strong and lovable. I can't forget the strong supportive roles played by James Garner (grandfather Red Stevens) and Brian Dennehy (rancher Gus). These two gentlemen are always memorable. Last, but certainly not least, is a Bill Cobbs (attorney Ted Hamilton) who is gentle, yet strong, and such a joy to watch on screen.
This is really a film for EVERYONE, teaching you the gifts of:
If you want to see a feel-good movie, this is for you! Please let me know what you think after you've seen the movie, or if you've already seen it. I'd love for you to share your thoughts ~ Many blessings ....
