Okay, yes! We drank the Total Money Makeover "Kool-aid"! We jumped into it with both feet and are following it with "Gazelle intensity" as Dave likes to say. This book really spoke to us, we were the cliche'd financial family with "too much month at the end of the money". We were "sick and tired of being sick and tired" when it came to our finances and this book helped us turn our finances around 180 degrees. Dave Ramsey speaks to you in this book with kindness and humor, without glossing over the fact that you may have made some stupid financial mistakes to have to need a Total Money Makeover in the first place. Though this book isn't specifically a Christian financial book, Christianity has a prominent position in it, citing Bible versus to emphasis key points. The book is filled with inspirational stories of couples and families that have gone before you with financial situations similar (or worse) than what you may be dealing with and tells you of their successes, what great motivation! The advice is very practical, you don't need an MBA in finances to understand it. The basic principle has been around forever, this just helps you get all your financial ducks in a row. This book has also turned us onto his website and his radio show, other great resources. If you think reading this book will improve your credit history or FICO score, this isn't the book for you. It's a book that is plotting out a plan for a totally debt free lifestyle. After reading it, we found it to be the most logical way to live our financial life.
