Earlier this year my husband and I bought a classic Corvette. It was in really great shape and needed little in the way of repairs. Just a good wash, wax, and cleaning of the inside and that was about all. It did need new tires though and after trying unsuccessfully to find a good deal locally we turned to Tire Rack.com instead.
Our next door neighbor is a big car guy so he used Tire Rack a few times in the past and highly recommended them so I felt confident that we'd be happy as well and we were.
TireRack.com is really easy to navigate. All I had to do was select our car's make, model and year from a series of dropdown lists and all the applicable tires displayed on the screen with multiple pictures, prices, and a very detailed description. It was easy to quickly compare the different brands and styles and make a decision.
We found the prices to be very good, much better than even Costco. Even with shipping, installation, and adding the Road Hazard option we saved lots of money. Costco had the lowest price for the tires we were looking for but they were not in stock and would not be available for about a week at a cost of $900. The same tires on TireRack including shipping and installation totaled about $700. What's even better, TireRack participates with Ebates.com so we received an additional rebate for shopping with Ebates.
My husband really wanted the tires quickly so I made sure to place the order prior to 4pm so they would be on the next day's shipment. I placed the order at about 4pm on a Tuesday and was absolutely shocked to receive a call at 10am the next morning stating that our tires had been delivered to the installer and that we should schedule an appointment for installation. They were only shipped from Indiana to Michigan, but I was still amazed in the quick turn around time.
Yeah, about that shipping. At first I was worried that they would deliver four giant Corvette tires to our house and we'd have to schlep them to a local installer in multiple trips but TireRack gives customers the option to have them delivered directly to one of the preferred installers listed on their website. There were several local installers from which to choose as well.
TireRack is not just about tires. They also carry other automotive related items, such as wheels, brakes, floormats, wipers, and more.
The Verdict: We saved lots of time and money by doing research and making our purchase with Tire Rack. I am so happy that our neighbor recommended this company and I highly recommend them as well. 5 stars.
