Works on some stains but leaves a ring where the stain was.

The Tide pen works but not as well as I thought it would. It has worked on several stains but don't try it on chocolate! My daughter had a white(yes white) shirt and some of her ice cream dripped on her shirt. Well, I used the pen and the stain seemed to be gone . About 15 minutes later, the area where the chocolate ice cream  was had a big yellow ring/stain on it. I went into the bathroom to wash it out and the yellow was still there. I put it into the wash and it never came out. It has also left rings several other times. It seems to mess up some materials as well.
