Its based on the book by Williams & Shelly Berger about a black quintet singers named Otis Williams (Charles Malik Whitfield), Melvin Franklin (D.B. Woodside), Eddie Kendricks (Terron Brooks), Paul Williams (Christian Payton), & David Ruffin (Leon) make a band called the Temptations. I first saw this movie when I was nine years old and I fell in love with it. It lead me to read the book also and get all the CD's so I could no more and more about the Temptations. It was a excellent movie. All the catchy songs and dance moves were a plus. It also had some sad parts such as, the death of the group members. This is a very good family movie. Although some parts are explicit, it was an overall good movie. This movie was very, very good especially for one that was made for TV. I think this movie was a tad bit better than the Five Heartbeats and the soundtrack captured the intense scenes of the failures as well as the fame of one of the best musical groups. Love this movie, love the music, but it's so heartbreaking. 5 stars!!!
