I confess: I watch a fair share of junky television. I've given just about every reality show a try and I've watched more than enough tv talk shows to last a lifetime. People call this sort of prgramming a "guilty pleasure" however, the truly guilty pleasure isn't in the watching, but in the cutting down of these shows. Anyone who's watched Mystery Science Theatre knows exactly what I'm talking about: tuning in to something that's so bad, the real joy comes from sitting around making jokes about it, making up dialogue, or just plain, old talking to the tv. Perfect examples of this would be Flavor of...
review »The Soup airs on E! on Friday nights. Hosted by Joel McHale, this show spoofs and mocks pop culture. It's hilarious. They take nothing seriously and McHale doesn't shy away from pointing out the stupidity of worshipped celebrities.
They don't limit the abuse to the Nicole Ritchie's of the world - oh no. With segments titled "Chat Stew" where The View and Tyra Banks are often ridiculed, to Clip Of The Week - a closer to each episode that leaves me in shock that people are really that crazy.
If you love to laugh at the crazies, the self-absorbed and the clueless in society, this is the show for you....
review »I absolutely love watching TV. This show "The Soup," rounds up all the funny little clips and puts them in one show, where Joel McHale will proceed to make hilarious jokes about them.
This half-hour show has various different sections, such as Chicks Man, Chat Stew (Soooo Meaty), It's Miley!, Lets Take Some E!, Reality Show Clip Time!, The Clip of the Week, and, more recently, Stay Out of It Nick Lachey!
As you watch the show, you'll become accustomed to the various recurring jokes, and Joel's hilarious antics.
One of my favorite jokes came from last year, when Joel would sometimes play...
review »If you have ever said "Do TV producers take the viewer for a total idiot?" or "I can't watch this. These people are talentless morons." then you will love The Soup hosted by Joel McHale on E!
This show takes a satrical look at the shows that you hate. Joel is basically saying what we're all thinking. That would be, "What were they thinking?" You will LOL, ROTFL, and embody every IM laughter acronym known to man.
The only negative thing about this show is, like with all satirical shows, some of the jokes fall flat, and at other times, the show can be a little too fearless. I do recall...
review »Joel McHale is so funny...most of the time. His witty and dry humor always cracks me up. The show also gives me the chance to see great clips of lots of shows that I wouldn't normally watch. My friends and I are always talking about on Sundays together.
Host Joel McHale's wit and sarcasm is great ... I laugh so hard ... my stomach hurts!
