We did not bring our dogs; however, the hotel caters to pets, especially dogs. At first, I was disappointed by the room size, but realized that there is an abundance of storage for your things. The room was probably the size of a college dorm and the bathroom was very small. There was only half a shower door, and I don't know why. The bed was extremely comfortable and the hotel staff was very responsive to any needs. The hotel began to grow on me the longer I stayed. The hotel is right in the location of the gaslamp, so if the SD nightlife is for you, then this hotel is for you. …

Our stay at the Sofia in San Diego was generally positive. The location is outstanding, within walking distance of the Harbor and the Gaslamp District. The room, while small, was still quite comfortable. It featured a luxurious bed, high-speed internet, and a flat screen TV with cable. The bathroom included a unique stand-up only shower without shower doors or curtains. Many rooms had views of Downtown San Diego, although our view was of a brick wall. There is a small business center located on the first floor. The staff and maintenance crew are truly first rate. We did have a few…

Our stay at the Sofia was great. It was just renovated and had very new and modern features in the rooms. It is an old building so the elevators are small and the standard rooms are small. But the new decor and fixtures in the rooms made up for that. The TV could have been a little bigger but we weren't watching it that much. Would have been nice to been able to get room service, but they do have a restaurant opening very soon. Also be prepared to pay for parking, they only have valet! Overall it was a great experience, good location. Within walking distance to many attractions and…

We arrived and were greeted and registered very efficiently. We had a lovely room room with all the amenities. The bed was very comfy and we had a fridge with bottled water and a flat screen tv. The only disadvantage we had was being in a corner room on a busy street and close to a fire department. We were two blocks from Horton Plaza and Gaslight Quarter. The hotel was putting in a restaurant, and there is a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf 10 steps outside of the hotel. We really didn't miss not having a restaurant with so many choices in the area.I didn't really like the fact they charge 25.00 for…

The Sophia Hotel, a recently renovated building, was redone using French styling. I found the hotel to be spotless, quite comfortable and very well decorated. The rooms were small but very clean, with nice bedding and beautiful bathrooms (again quite small). The room sizes are ideal for one person business travelers although with two it's still comfortable. The location was idea being right downtown San Diego and the restaurant attached to the hotel was as nice or nicer then many other stand alone restaurants in the area. I'd stay at this hotel again and I'd recommend it to people I…

Hotel service was excellant from begining to the end. Loved the quality and comfort of the rooms. The workout room had up to date equiptment and plenty of choices to get in your exercise. Not a lot of amentities as the restaurant was in the process of being completed. Overall, with the price , how nice the rooms were, and the amazing service. You can't ask for more. It was in easy walking distance to all the local sights and the conventions center. So you can't go wrong with this hotel if you are looking for a lower price on a weekend for business or for couples. Not geared…

The Sofia Hotel is a beautifully refurbished historic hotel. From the lobby to the rooms, a quiet elegance creates a soothing, welcoming atmosphere. The bed was wonderfully comfortable - excellent quality mattress and cozy comforter to snuggle under. The accessible room in which we stayed featured a well-designed bathroom with plenty of room to manuever. The Sofia is within walking distance to the Gaslamp District and the harbor. The Amtrak station is 4 blocks from the hotel.Dining: In Hotel, We enjoyed two wonderful meals at the just-opened Jonathan Pflueger's CURRANT restaurant, adjacent…

This is a very modern hotel. The fact that it is still relatively new provides great offer$. The amenities are great and the up keep is exceptional. There is an obvious presence of staff so every need is addressed promptly. I would definately recommend this hotel if you are looking for a modern, sofisticated, hip stay.Dining: Short Drive, The Strip Club restaurant is a great place if you want to have steak cooked the way you like. You can actually cook your own steak while hanging out with your freinds or family. if you are looking for a fun place to eat steak, this is the spot. —…

The Sofia is such a cute hotel. The room was tiny and doesnt really have a bathroom but it was a really nice room. The bed was comfy and the room was clean. For the price it is at, its worth all the money. Its not a cheap dirty hotel. The staff was nice and its in the perfect location, near everything. Walking distance from the mall and downtown gaslamp. I would definatly stay there again.Dining: Short Walk, 5 minute walk from gaslamp and there is every kind of restaurant you can want. —…

The Sofia was a touch of Europe in sunny Southern California. The rooms and layout of the hotel felt very European in decor and amenities. I enjoyed the separate sink and shower areas with very unique modern sink and shower. The closet in the room held an iron & ironing board with had more than adequate storage space for clothes.Dining: Short Walk, The great diversity of resturants in the Gas Lamp area are really great and fun to try. —…

Sofia is centrally located to everything in downtown San Diego. Lots of shops and dining options. Its very modern interior as its been renovated recently. I got a suite but I heard normal rooms are pretty small and the desk is not too big for us business travellers. But for the price, its a very good options as most other hotels in the area are not as nice and more expensive.Dining: Short Walk, Walkable to Gaslamp district —…
