We own, I believe the first 7 seasons of the Simpsons on DVD. For years, we were obsessive about not missing the show on Sunday nights. One of the charming things about the show was Homer's stupidity. He was great when he was primarily the butt of the jokes and acting out in his overtly inadequate ways. However, in recent years, both on TV and in this movie, we have seen him taking a new and darker turn. At times, he has gone criminal and in this movie, he gets so bad that his family finally leaves him. Of course, there is a happy ending, as somehow, as always, Homer saves the day, despite his total ineptitude. But I have reached my limit with Home and this series, I'm afraid.
