Based on Frances Hodgson Burnett's children's novel. Mary (Kate Maberly), a strong-willed English girl lost her parents in an earthquake in India, then is sent to England to live with an unfeeling uncle in his mansion. Mary's mood lightens when she finds the key to a neglected garden and brings not only the roses but the entire house to life again.
This movie was very inspirational, at a time crisis, this beautiful little girl was able to figure out a way to help not only herself by creating this wonderful garden to play in but in the end, all 3 of the children. If we could all find the secret place to be ourselves and not what everyone around us expect us to be. Wonderful interepertation of the book. Some of the dialogue was a bit difficult to understand for the smaller kids of the house.
