The Secret DVD Review

I tried. I really tried. I read the book and then bought the movie (which is basically the book read on screen). The people from the book, which the author quoted, all come onscreen to recite the quotes in the book.  Practically verbatim. A little camera work, a woman whispering and scenes of a dark room with the author dusting off an old book account for the rest of the dvd.

Secret?? Call it faith. Call it wanting something so bad and then believing you can have it if you want it bad enough.  Meditation. Visualizing yourself with that special someone, that perfect car, that bonus at work.  Whatever you want to call it, it's NOT a secret.  And it hasn't been hidden for centuries. What it is, is packaged in a way so as to seem like a new idea.

The success came, I believe, from going on Oprah Winfrey's show. Oprah said she believes in the secret and that's all it took. It's sold millions of copies but I don't think it's anything new and definitely not worth your money. Visualize yourself not buying this dvd.
