Nostalgic comedy never syruppy - a gem of a Great Kids Film

Here's an under-rated litlte gem of a movie that the whole family will enjoy.

Imagine if Jean Shepherd (who wrote the stories that A Christmas Story was based on) wrote a story about a group of young boys who play pick-up baseball in a field.

The simple premise is the basis for a whole series of comic misadventures involving the kids who just want to play baseball as much as possible in the sandlot.

Young Scotty is new the neighborhood, trying to make friends and organizes a baseball game even though he knows very little about playing baseball. There's friendly Benny, the obnoxious chubby...

Great family movie

DVD collector, very picky about kids films

This is a great family movie, kids love it! It has adventure and it causes them to use their imaginations! There are also lots of humorous parts for viewers. This is a very clean movie for families. This is great for those who love baseball and Babe Ruth!

a fun childhood classic! nothing is bad about this movie. true nostalgia and great one-liners the kids (and adults) will say over and over. great to watch again and again, even as an adult. it's just not summer w/o watching sandlot!
