Zoos present a great way for families to spend time together and perhaps gain a little knowledge and understanding in the process. Many U.S. cities have zoos and one of the most famous of all if the San Diego Zoo, a widely- visited attraction in the great city of San Diego, California.
Zoo Commentary:
The San Diego Zoo is a large, urban zoo located in San Diego's famed Balboa Park. This zoo isn't the largest in terms of area, but it is larger than average (about 100 acres) and it welcomes a very large number of visitors each year due to its world- famous status and numerous attractions.
This zoo...
We just went to San Diego for our honeymoon on March 9, and this was our first stop Monday when we got out and about. It completely met our expectations, and then some! We had bought the San Diego Go Card (which was worth every penny, btw) so it covered our admission, along with the fees for the Sky Ride and bus tour. I thought the set up of the zoo was slightly confusing, but once we figured out where we were and where we wanted to go and had already seen, it was amazing. The way they have their displays set up was fantastic and very informative, and almost all of the animals were out, which made...

San Diego Zoo tickets range in price, starting at $35.00 for adults and $26.00 for children to a year long membership at $75.00 for each adult and $28.00 for each child, while more expensive than my Houston Zoo membership, I think the child's would be a great deal for a family living in San Diego.
Additional costs will include food, drinks, the Aerial Tram and the...

Normally we spend 5-6 hours in a large zoo and 2-3 hours in the smaller ones. We spent the entire day at the zoo. We were there from the time they opened until they had to run us out. The large variety of animals is amazing. This zoo had animals that we had never heard of.
The exhibits are large, many are open exhibits, and well above average.
My favorite was the Panda Bear Exhibit, also known as The Panda Research Station. We went early and there was not a line to see them. You walk through a winding path and almost feel like you are...
The San Diego Zoo is a great place for everyone. There you will see every animal you can think of and more. It can get crowded and it can get confusing where to go, but I had a year membership when I was living in San Diego and I went there very often to just get away from it all. Every animal habitat is beautiful and all you can think of is how well these animals are being treated. If you are planing a trip to San Diego and are considering the San Diego Zoo, I would recommend going a day during the week when there is going to be less people. Also I highly recommend spending some time going through...
read full review »My husband and I just returned from California. We started our vacation in San Diego and visited the San Diego Zoo. I have always wanted to go there and am so happy that we did. What a great zoo, the animals are in great enclosures with loads of space and great thought out areas. We found that the zoo itself is very environmentally conscious which is such a great asset. Walking is the best way to see the zoo and you need to allow a minimum of 5 hours to see it. We took the Bus first but didn't really see much except the overall zoo itself and how much area it actually encompasses.
The San Diego Zoo is the most amazing place. Clean, spacious, and has the most phenomenal animals and exhibits. You can spend endless hours walking, communing with nature. Watching animals in natural habitats, and feeling like you can get into their space. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This zoo is a great place to visit because there is so much to see. The only thing I would advice is to be prepared to do some walking. It's great exercise and you get to see some really neat animals too!
