This classic 34 minute film is shot with almost no dialogue by French Director Lamorisse.

It's about a boy who finds a red balloon and they seem to become friends.  The ballon appears to be following the boy around the streets of Paris and helps the boy deal with adults and bullies.

The sudden temporary loss of the balloon is treated like a terrible tragedy-- since for the young boy  IT IS exactly that, and children will strongly identify with this.

The ending is haunting and memorable.

You'll never forget the wonderful images and passion of this simple yet superb classic film.
