The Pfister Hotel was the perfect place for my wife and I to stay when we last visited my hometown. Years ago I liked to go to The Pfister because it housed my favorite restaurant in Milwaukee...unfortunately that establishment is now only a memory. While we did not eat at their current main… read full review »

It is a very beautiful hotel and the amenities are wonderful. The staff however, is less than stellar. Then my husband went looking for a vending machine to get a drink. He went to the 23rd floor, called and asked where one was, they said the 22nd. It was not there this went on 4 times until my… read full review »

For a get-away weekend in which we intend to spend time soaking up the amenities of the hotel as well local attractions, we love the Pfister. Excellent concierge service, delicious and beautifully presented room service, live music in the lounge and at their sumptuous Sunday brunch, glorious chandeliers and other decorations evoke an opulence similar to that of the Palmer House in Chicago. Our only dissatisfaction is that the excellent restaurant that used to be in the lower level (Celia's) is gone to make way for a spa. The Pfister has been restored beautifully. The main lobby and adjacent piano bar and ballroom are elegant and warm. Our room was in the newer part of the facility, and was adequate, with a great view of the Milwaukee harbor. Unfortunately, we encountered a plumbing problem, but the staff were rather accomodating and quickly got us a new room. Great location in downtown Milwaukee, just blocks from the lake, the art museum, and the historic third ward.Entertainment: In Hotel, The Well Spa, located in the basement, has fabulous amenities and is a great value if you're interested in treating… read full review »

This hotel is in a class of it's own, exuding charm and poise at every turn. It's a landmark building dripping with marble, crystal and antiques - a world apart from banal chain hotels. The rooms are more than comfortable and the intimate bar is a wonderful place to enjoy a cocktail by the fireplace before heading out for dinner. Highly recommended.Dining: Short Drive, Sanfords is a discrete restaurant with an innovative menu and superlative service. —… read full review »

The Pfister exceeded our expectations. What a wonderful, turn of the century, gem. You would be remiss to visit Milwaukee and not stay at the Pfister. Not only have the owners maintained the quiet dignity of this grand dame, but they have kept the rooms updated and modern.Dining: Short Walk, —… read full review »

I'm not always a fan of these old majestic hotels, but this was a wonderful exception. Not only was the hotel itself beautiful, with paintings on the walls and soaring ceilings, but the rooms were modern and comfortable. The wireless internet worked great, and the hotel was located in a perfect spot in the city -- a short 2-3 block walk to either the lake and the art museum, or the river walk along the waterway. There were dozens of restaraunts within walking distance, many with outside dining. Highly recommended!Dining: Short Walk, Zarletti's italian restaraunt is right around the corner… read full review »

Phister is an 1890's hotel that retains its elegance of that period, with all of the necessary amenities today's traveler needs. It is only 15 minutes from the airport to the hotel, located in the middle of the downtown area. the mattress was great; the room more than adequate.Recreational Attactions: Short Walk, —… read full review »
