The Office (American version on NBC) is a product of the British BBC show of the same name.  I was a fan of the BBC version and thought there was no way that an American version could improve upon the same show so I didn't watch it for the first two years that it was on NBC.  I finally started watching it (starting from the beginning up to the current season) and found it hilarious!  It's actually funnier than the British version!  The characters are all fun and played superbly by a great cast of actors.  Steve Carrell is hilarious as the bumbling, and often inappropriate, manager of the office.  The romance between Jim and Pam is great and Dwight is a great portrayal of that awkward, annoying person that can be found in almost every office.  It's an amazing show.  Start from the beginning and watch it all the way through!
