I had heard terrible things about The Number 23. Confusing ending, bad acting, dumb basis for a movie, and many, many other things. Being a true movie enthusiast, I had to see it just to cure my curiosity of why people gave it such bad reviews. After viewing the film, I'm delightfully surprised.… read full review »

This movie had way too much hype. By the time I got to watch it I was very disappointed. The story was only average, it did keep you guessing...but only for a few minuets, it was way too obvious. — As far as the number thing....Wow, it's amazing how if you really really try you can come to… read full review »

I'm not one of those people into the extremely gory movies, and I don't like to be thoroughly scared, but I do like it when my heart races a little and starts me thinking different "what if" scenarios. I much prefer psychological thrillers to horror movies, especially when they involve someone's paranoia like The Number 23. It keeps you guessing throughout whether the main character is just paranoid or whether he's really onto something. — — Jim Carrey stars as animal control officer Walter Sparrow whose wife Agatha (Virginia Madsen) surprises him with a book for his birthday.… read full review »

So I heard lots of not-very-good things about this movie, and I was dumb enough to go and see it, hoping everyone was wrong and I might like it. Needless to say, everyone was right. Jim Carrey was about the only good part of this movie (which is why it gets two stars instead of one), and I didn't even like him that much in it. I thought there would be some hope in the beginning because it seemed like the plot could get really interesting, but then there were these really weird sex scenes that just seemed wrong for Jim Carrey to be in. I know that's typecasting the man, but like I said, it… read full review »

First of all I don't believe Jim Carrey in a serious role. He should stick to comedy. The movie was ok but left me scratching my head at the end. What just happened? Why would he be the killer? How did his wife find that book and most importantly why would she buy that ratty old book for her husband's birthday gift? What did the dog have to do with anything? Too many unanswered questions. I don't care for movies that make my brain hurt. too much thinking involved and the plot was not easy to follow. Who was the blonde lady? If he had all of those tattoos where did they go? I would recommend… read full review »

In watching this movie I was hoping to see Jim Carrey do a decent serious movie. Jim Carrey is an amazing actor and I thought this film was seriously beneath his abilities. The movie was bizarrely twisted, plot made little sense, and most of the number stuff was crappily composed. I love movies with twisted plots, horror, and all sorts of stuff but this one left me a bit disgusted that it got anywhere near the attention it did. I rank this movie right around where I would rank the movie Hostel.  Not worth your time or effort. — … read full review »

Jim is amazing in this film, and its on of his best movies. This plays with your mind and makes you think of things in a way that they have not been thought about before. My mind was focused mostly on that number also, and I actually understood every bit of that movie, but it's also kind of scary and everytime I think of it my mind goes wild. But it teaches you things you never would think about in your life, and how things would fall into place, and it's very creepy, and I think it's numerology or… read full review »

I thought this movie was really good. I actually like Jim Carey in more serious roles. I think he's become a truely talented actor. Even though some people don't like to see him in anything that isn't comedy. Those people are ignorant. I was never quite sure which way this movie was going which was nice. It refreshing to have a movie keeping you on your… read full review »

I loved the Number 23. Its nice to see Jim Carrey do something other than comedy, don't get me wrong I love comedy. This movie kept me on my toes through the whole time, It was just a little gory. The only negative thing I can say about this movie is I didn't like the way it ended, I wish it was different. So other then that just rent it, It's so worth… read full review »

I wasn't sure what to expect going into this movie.  I just thought he was simply obsessed with the number 23 but there is a lot of depth to the story.  Seeing Jim Carrey in a serious, sexier role was different but a good thing!  I was satisfied with the… read full review »
