The Notebook Review Summary

"True love at its best!" Real life couple Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling star in The Notebook, a romantic story that "makes you want to be right there with them." An elderly man retells the story of his courtship to his wife who lays ill in a nursing home with Alzheimer's disease, similar to the storyline of Away From Her. Viewpoints reviewers report that this heartwarming drama has them in tears within the first fifteen to twenty minutes, being a "roller coaster of happy and sad." It's a pleasant ride on the roller coaster, as reviewers enjoy watching The Notebook over and over. Even the most cynical of reviewers are pulled in with the dramatic twists and turns of this love story. The Notebook is "a love story that even the most masculine men admit [to] liking."

The Notebook is my favorite movie. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it and I haven't stopped watching it since. This is definitely one of those movies that you could watch 1000 times over and over again and never get sick of it. It's just THAT great! Plus, it has two of the hottest actors... review »

OK, I was certain I would love this film. Even guys friends of mine who usually just liked action films cried at this movie. Maybe it was all this hype for three years I heard that made me sort of irritated a few times while watching it. There were some bad choices in the casting, which made my mom and...

I read the novel The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks a few years back and was completely taken in by the story. One of those types that you literally can't put down and that keeps you up until the wee hours of the night reading. For some reason I missed the movie when it came out and didn't immiediately connect the two (have I mentioned I'm horrible with names?) when I was checking out the TV listings and saw it would be on tonight. Yet, I knew all over again reading that synopsis that it was a movie I had to see. The more I thought about it, the more I remembered that beautiful love story of Sparks',... review »

The Notebook is the story of two teenagers, Noah and Allie.  They meet, "click", argue, play, and basically spend their whole summer together falling in love.  She is a rich and "proper" girl while he is your average blue collar boy.  The relationship is tolerated by Allie's rich parents at first, but eventually they separate the two young lovers when they realize just how serious the whole thing is becoming.  Allie and Noah are both devestated by the split and cling to the idea that somehow they can be together again.  The main characters do not cross paths again until several years later...

One of the most romantic movies I have ever seen is probably the Notebook.  It is one of those movies that show a life time of love, and couldn't possibly have been any more sweet.

Noah Calhoun, a man in his senior years shows up at nursing home every day to tell the love story of a young couple by the name's Allie and Noah, to an elderly woman resides there.  Why does he do that?  Because the he is the Noah in the story and the elderly woman is Allie, his wife.  After a life time of loving one another Allie develops ausheimer's disease, and Noah comes to tell her the story of their love life...

If you are looking for a great love story, one that will make you both laugh and cry, The Notebook is the perfect movie. From the beginning until the end, the story unfolds so perfectly and emotionally that you will want to watch it time and time again.

The story revolves around Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling) and Allie Hamilton (Rachel McAdams). Love for them came very easily but it was not easy to maintain. They spent a perfect summer together and were madly in love. Due to opposing forces, their perfect summer came to an end and they were separated. However, their love for each other held up for...

I am engaged to a Marine who for the most part is emotionally handicapped! My mother gave us this movie and of course I had to pull teeth to get him to watch a drama film! With in the first 15-20 minutes I was crying! It was of course a good cry this movie shows love at its best and worse. Just like life it is a roller coaster of happy and sad. It touched me. Before too long I could not even look away! I needed a cigarette and did not want to pause it to have one! Into the movie about an hour I did happen to look over and I saw my big strong Marine tearring up! I of course pretended not to notice... review »

Wow what can I say. This movie is a true love story that starts out a summer love and turns into a true romance of the hear. The Notebook is what girls dream of and talk about and what boys think about but never mention. I love that it gives you enough of the background for you to understand that she had to move on cause she thought it was over for her and Noah. But Noah knew deep down inside that he would be with his true love and he would find a way to one way or the other. The romance between the two is shown all through out the movie. Even when they are just sitting and talking you can see...

First of all - the chemistry of the two main characters was so obvious, it was like watching a true love story unfold.  Oh! to be loved like that! We all wish we had a story like that to tell our children, and grand children.  It's a great chick movie - but even my husband, teared up a little - when the two of them slip away together - to the next geat adventure.  I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who has doubts about love - it may have been a book - but, you know out there somewhere are the two who lived it!

The Notebook is the ultimate chick flick out there today. This movie I have seen so many times that i have most of the lines memorized. The actors in the movie are amazing, and the overall scene is set just right! This is the type of movie to sit down with you girlfriends and just watch it and cry because it's so good. Every time I see this movie I notice something different that I didn't see before, and every time I cry. Overall I love this movie, no complaints!

The Notebook stars Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as young lovers Noah and Allie - he's a sweet, poor kid working in a lumber yard and she's a privileged, beautiful girl at the familiy's summer home. They meet and are soon inseperable. They are passionate, fun loving and are crazy for each other. Everything is perfect until Allie's mother forbids her daughter to see Noah anymore and packs the famliy back to the city.

Noah writes to her everyday for a year and eventually gives up and turns into a recluse, angry at life. Years later Allie is engaged to a charming and handsome man that mommy just...

One of the most romantic movies I have ever seen is probably the Notebook. I enjoy every minute when I watch The Notebook.  Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams are perfectly cast as Noah and Allie. I find myself laughing and crying along with the characters throughout.  I highly recommend The Notebook to anyone who is looking for a good romance-type movie. It is one of those movies that show a life time of love, and couldn't possibly have been any more sweet.
The movie bounces back and forth through present day with Garner and Rowlands and back to the 1940s during their courtship, with Ryan Gosling...

The first time I saw The Notebook, I was just flipping though the channels and caught it at about the middle.  But right away the characters were cute and really caught my attention.  I watched the rest of it only to end up in tears by the end of the movie.  As soon as I could I rented it so that I could enjoy the whole thing from beginning to end.  I must admit that I truly believe in loving someone for nothing other than LOVE.  And this movie depicted that so wonderfully.  The chemistry between the characters made you believe in the friendship, the fun, the honesty, the pain and the absolute...
