Tim Burton couldn't convince Disney to make this film, when he worked at the studio as an animator, but when he had success with Pee Wee and BeetleJuice he pushed this into production and had his team spend over two years doing the stop motion animation needed to bring his dark twisted vision to life....

Nightmare before christmas is a dark movie that is mainly for adults and older children. both can enjoy the animation and music but as a small child the main draw is the music.  I personally don't understand the "cult following this movie has as i am one of the people that really can't stand it.  ...

Having never seen this until a few years ago, I found myself blown away by it. Tim Burton is a man of pure genius and imagination.

The Nightmare Before Christmas is an enjoyable and kid appropriate animation filled with catchy songs and hidden meanings. It is a clever story that uniquely ties together Halloween and Christmas. A story encompassed with a nice ending and a lesson for kids makes it a fun movie to enjoy, for everyone. I wouldn't reccomend it for the 4 and under crowd, but most kids will be able to enjoy it.

This is definitely a movie you can watch over and over, the soundtrack will...

This movie is awesome!! I remember watching it for the first time when it came out and not moving any part of my body. I was so mesmerized by the animation, characters, and the songs. The score by Danny Elfman is fantastic! The songs the characters sing through-out this movie are just amazing. Everyone can sing along with them- and by the 2nd time you watch the movie, you know all the words to them.

Although this is a dark film set in a kid's world, the kids love it just as much as the older ones. I'm 22 and still love it to death! I even have my mom loving it! The Nightmare Before Christmas is...

The Nightmare Before Christmas has got to be the best Animated stop motion film I have ever seen, not that I've seen a lot, but if you've seen the old Rudolph cheesy stuff on TV during the holidays, than this gem of a Disney film is miles ahead in quality and magic.

This coming from a fan not crazy about musicals, and more used to traditional animation, but this film is spectacularly original, funny, beautiful, weird and did I mention it's stop motion, no clay here either.  The great music is by former indie rock singer Danny Elfman, who now does all of Tim Burton's scores.

The main plot...

The Nightmare Before Christmas is a wonderfull story about the two main hollidays of the season. Holloween and Christmas. In this movie Jack Skellingten, the pumpkin king of Holloween town stumbles across a circle of trees in the woods. On the trees are dors shaped like different objects for each holliday. The one that catches his eye most is the christmas tree door. Once he opens the door he is sucked into christmas land. He is in awe of this new magnificent holliday he has found and decides to make it his own. He travels back to Holloween town to share with the rest of the gools and goblins what...

First time I saw The Nightmare Before Christmas was with my kids in 1994 when my oldest daughter was 5 years old. I LOVED it at first watch.

I am a huge fan of music and musicals, and I was definately not dissapointed with the music in this film. It was dark, clever, beautiful, and touching, just like the entire movie!

I think this is a fantastic movie to watch with kids. It may seem dark, but it shows you that not everything is what it seems and that some people are just misunderstood. It has a great story of trying to find yourself and the ending is triumphant.

This movie is so hilarious to me,...

I have been watching this movie for as long as i can remember. Yes, it is disney but you definitly wouldn't think so. Director, Tim Burton, did fantastically. No one can think like him. It is only partially a love story. It really turns into what ever story you want it to be. It's a story of love, of selfishness, of someone doing what they want to do by putting there mind to it. It's a story of the ruler of Halloween becoming the king of Christmas. It's a story of discovery of ones self will and how wrong it can be. If you like this animation, also try Tim Burton's "Corpse Bride".

The first time I saw "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas" was in the theater in 1993 when it first came out; I thought it was ok.  The second time I saw it was on DVD and it has now become a family tradition in our house around Halloween and Christmas to watch it.  My 3-year-old son LOVES this movie.  "I want to watch Jack!" is what he says at least once a week.

It takes a little to get into it the first time you see it, but give it a chance and you will enjoy it.

I love this movie, it's such a dying art (stop motion) and it's at it's best here. I just saw the 3-D version in the theater and it was awesome. It was so great to see the movie in the theater and all these years I saw it once when it was originally released. I recommend this for anyone. I don't know about little kids I guess you just have to judge how sensitive your kid is.

I LOVE The Nightmare Before Christmas! I also love all things Tim Burton! It is a Great movie for any age. However, this is a rare movie to come by, I have tried to get a copy for myself and somehow ended up with a bootleg copy in the process. If you come across one, hold on to it, it is worth a lot to somebody!

The movie, Nightmare before Christmas was stunning! The special effects were awesome. It can be a little scary for very young children but it is definately a movie for the whole family. Young and old will appreciate the story line and the computer animation! You just can't go wrong with a Tim Burton flick!

This movie Nightmare Before Christmas is great for adults and children. It's a true work of art how well they crafted each scene, how long it took to make this movie and the color expresions are amazing. I'm not really one for musicals but I watch this movie all the time.
