Most HelpfulTim Burton couldn't convince Disney to make this film, when he worked at the studio as an animator, but when he had success with Pee Wee and BeetleJuice he pushed this into production and had his team spend over two years doing the stop motion animation needed to bring his dark twisted vision to life....

Most HelpfulNightmare before christmas is a dark movie that is mainly for adults and older children. both can enjoy the animation and music but as a small child the main draw is the music. I personally don't understand the "cult following this movie has as i am one of the people that really can't stand it. ...
review »Having never seen this until a few years ago, I found myself blown away by it. Tim Burton is a man of pure genius and imagination.
The Nightmare Before Christmas is an enjoyable and kid appropriate animation filled with catchy songs and hidden meanings. It is a clever story that uniquely ties together Halloween and Christmas. A story encompassed with a nice ending and a lesson for kids makes it a fun movie to enjoy, for everyone. I wouldn't reccomend it for the 4 and under crowd, but most kids will be able to enjoy it.
This is definitely a movie you can watch over and over, the soundtrack will...
review »The Nightmare Before Christmas has got to be the best Animated stop motion film I have ever seen, not that I've seen a lot, but if you've seen the old Rudolph cheesy stuff on TV during the holidays, than this gem of a Disney film is miles ahead in quality and magic.
This coming from a fan not crazy about musicals, and more used to traditional animation, but this film is spectacularly original, funny, beautiful, weird and did I mention it's stop motion, no clay here either. The great music is by former indie rock singer Danny Elfman, who now does all of Tim Burton's scores.
The main plot...

review »First time I saw The Nightmare Before Christmas was with my kids in 1994 when my oldest daughter was 5 years old. I LOVED it at first watch.
I am a huge fan of music and musicals, and I was definately not dissapointed with the music in this film. It was dark, clever, beautiful, and touching, just like the entire movie!
I think this is a fantastic movie to watch with kids. It may seem dark, but it shows you that not everything is what it seems and that some people are just misunderstood. It has a great story of trying to find yourself and the ending is triumphant.
This movie is so hilarious to me,...
review »I LOVE The Nightmare Before Christmas! I also love all things Tim Burton! It is a Great movie for any age. However, this is a rare movie to come by, I have tried to get a copy for myself and somehow ended up with a bootleg copy in the process. If you come across one, hold on to it, it is worth a lot to somebody!
I watched this movie with my 4 year old little girl and she LOVED it! I purchased the movie after renting at the store. WONDERFUL MOVIE!!
