The Nanny Diaries got generally mediocre reviews, but it seemed like it could be good. I'm glad I went with my gut on this one, as the film was really entertaining. I think it's one of those films where the critics expected more of the director, talent and story than the sum is intended to be. The critics...

I like going to the movies and finding nice little surprises. I wasn't expecting a whole lot from The Nanny Diaries, and was only seeing it because it fit into my timeframe, plus I didn't know much about the story. Yet, as I walked away from the theatre knowing it wasn't in one of my top ten movies of... read full review »

Starring Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans (Fantastic Four)

Apparently a park is a great place to look for a nanny. This is where Annie begins her new, if not bizarre or qualified career as an upper Manhattan nanny. What was supposed to be a summer long thing-to-do, turns into a life hard to live. Despite a miserable living situation and a vicious set of employees, Annie falls head over heels in love... for Grayer (aka Grover) the six year old boy Annie watches, or should I say raises.

Based on the novel the opening of this movie is very unique and fresh. It has a lot of lessons in it and...

Just finished The Nanny Diaries. Good, quick read. Not my favorite, but I’drecommend it, especially to those who like chick lit or those who have been a nanny. It is based on real life experiences the authors had as nannies living in New York City. The book is a fictionalized account of one young woman, a senior in college, and her year of being a nanny for a family living the high life on Park Avenue. The book is funny, but is also heart wrenching at times. I was a nanny when I was younger, but I am lucky to say I never experienced things like the book describes. It’s so sad to think there... read full review »

This is a great movie for the whole family.  I only caught 1 curse word... but you wouldn't catch it unless you were reallyyyy paying attention.  I enjoyed the the imagination that was placed into creating the beginning and ending sequences of this movie.  It was absolutely the cutest, of course this is from a female perspective.  I watched this movie with my boyfriend, whom i must say was ademant that he did not want to watch such a girly movie.  Once I put it on, however, he really got into it as well.  The ending, as with the majority of movies that are coming out, is relatively predictable. ... read full review »

I thought this movie was cute and enjoyable. It was good too in the sense that it was not super sappy. It is still mind you a chick flick but not a lot of romance scenes. The characters, which were well acted by the actors, were likable and realistic. I did though feel their was not much development of the characters, i felt the movie was missing this unfortunately. The ending was predictable. All in all though it was fun to watch and even though it will not go down as my favorite movie, i would not opposed to seeing it again in the future.

This movie is a wonderful, funny and very real life movie.

All of the neglectful mothers out there need to watch this one.

There is nothing wrong with having a nanny and especially

nothing wrong with having one that loves your child

but pawning your children off 24 hours a day

and being annoyed with them when you are spending

time with them is not okay and this clever movie

opens those moms eyes brilliantly.. the book was good too

This book was a very honest account of what it is like to be a nanny for the uppercrust in manhattan. It was realistic and well written. It had some great moments, but also really made you feel what the authors experienced in this vocation. It was such an easy light read that I couldn't put it down. I haven't seen the movie yet so I can't really give a comparison, but I would highly reccomend this book!
