The Mist —
What a disappointment! The movie The Mist was part of a recent family birthday celebration. The best thing I can say about it is that we had a lot of fun panning the film over dinner afterward. The story dragged painfully and the twists were not only predictable, but were predicted by the film itself. The monster in the mist could have been interesting and was certainly an opportunity for some fancy effects but this opportunity was declined by director Frank Darabont, who chose instead to use tentacles from a cheap 80's flick. He did though, through in a couple of cringe-worthy bugs to distract you from what you weren't seeing. Unfortunately, the only happiness found in the ending is the relief of the movie finally being over. Thomas Jane, the handsome hero du jour, does what he can, but even an A-lister couldn't have saved this train-wreck.
