The Mirage was the first resort to start the mega resort trend in Las Vegas. It opened in 1989 and to this day it still is a gem. The Mirage is very clean and you can see it keeps moving forward with the times. The Mirage staff is there for your every need. Check-in was quick and efficient. The rooms were very nice. The only thing I did not like about the room was that the walls seemed to be very thin and you could hear loud door slams and people talking in the hall. Also, the bath tub rug got in the way of the bathroom door and you couldn't open the bathroom door. This wasn't a big deal to me, but it was definately something I noticed that others might not like. The Mirage's 24/7 cafe, the Caribe Cafe, was over priced. They charge $1.50 for 1 strip of bacon and $10 for a waffle, or $10 for 5 pancakes. I found there was better food for better value at properties surrounding the Mirage. So thank goodness for the Mirage's great location. It is in reasonable walking distance to a handfull of other casinos. The Mirage's ammenities are pretty much top notch. They have a very very large pool. The pool area is huge. It has plenty of room, but gets very very crowded. The Mirage didn't really have any casino games that thrilled me. I usually go Downtown to Fremont Street and gamble. The Duece double decker bus goes Downtown. There is a bus stop for the Duece that is conviently located across the street from the Mirage that travels North Strip. There is a bus stop for the South Strip right in front of the Mirage volcano.

Recreational Attactions: Short Walk, The best 24/7 cafe in Vegas is right across the street at the Venetian. The Grand Lux Cafe. Deuce bus stops conviently located out front of the Mirage for your Strip and Downtown travels if you do not have a car. OR if you want to rent a car there is a Dollar Car Rental keiosk on site at Mirage/TI.
