The Mentalist is a show that I originally thought from the description, an ex-psychic works as a private investigator helping the police, that we'd seen a million times. I figured it would be just like any other crime drama and like a much less comedic Psych. What I found watching it, though, as that it actually has a really interesting element that separates it from the rest.

Simon Baker stars as Patrick Jane, a one-time psychic who now frowns upon his past livelihood. He claims he was a fraud and doesn't believe anyone is really capable of being psychic. Patrick has very good investigative tactics...

CBS has tried to make a star out of Aussie actor Simon Baker before.  Looks like they finally did it.  If he looks familiar to you it's because you are one of the few people who saw him play Nick Falin in The Guardian (2001-2003) or as Jeff Green in the mercifully short-lived Smith in 2006.  Oh, yeah, more of you might have seen him as Christian Thompson in the movie The Devil Wears Prada.

In the new series The Mentalist, airing on CBS on Tuesday nights, Mr. Baker is Patrick Jane, reformed fake psychic and all around cad who now helps the California Bureau of Investigation solve murders.  He...

The Mentalist is one of the most riviting shows out there. This was one of the few new shows that survived the 2008-2009 TV Season. It is a captivating show that is intriguing, charming, and fasiniating. Simon Baker who plays the character, Patrick Jayne, is marvelous as the character and he knows how to play him to get the maximum out of the character. He plays a man who is a former self proclaimed psychic who now reads a person by their mannerisms and the way that they talk in order to find out what crime was committed and whether or not they were involved. I am a huge fan of this show and I...

The Mentalist is a litte bit different, little bit quircky, and little comical, but very entertaining. Simon Baker is perfect, and Robin Tunnery is finally getting her due for good she really is. The revolves around a fictional law enforcement branch CBI, or California Buearu of Investigation. And current the plot line of finding a serial killer by the name of Red John. I get the feeling this show wasn't mant to be this good, it just sort of happend that way, which makes it a real gem to watch, and it's obvious that all the actors are having a blast on this show.

The Mentalist is one show I'm glad will stick around.  Simon Baker plays the main character, a former "physic" whose wife and daughter were brutally murdered to revenge an interview he gave.  Now he's a consultant for the FBI and helps them solve murders by using his ability to read people.  I love the back story line and only wish they would give more details about it.  Flashbacks of his family and former life are frequently used during cases to show the turmoil and wounds he still experiences.  It's also nice that, at least up till now, they haven't thrown him into a romantic conflict.

Our family has come to really enjoy this show. This is a show that we enjoy watching with our kids... ages 6, 10, 14, and 17.  Although they are investigating crimes the show does not show graphic violence or the gory aftermath of the violence. This is just a fun and cute show.  We love the character development between the two lead actors.  It is fun to see how the crimes are solved. This show reminds me of the quirkiness of Monk another show our family loves to watch. This is one show we have set on our DVR to record each episode!

The Mentalist is THE BEST new show on TV this year!  Simon Baker makes the show and really adds thought and humor to the mix.  The cast works well together and Simon's character shows that paying attention to detail is as important as anything else in solving a mystery or crime.  Simon's good looks also add to the addictiveness of the show-I love hs facial expr4essions and the smile he puts on our faces when watching!  A definite hit and I have already recommended it to many friends who absolutely love it too!

I never miss an episode of The Mentalist.  Patrick Jane is just adorable and is ingenious with his ability to solve  a case with the smallest of clue.  I stay hooked the entire show.  His partners are interesting also.  They have such a good chemistry.  It just all comes together and makes a great tv show.

I love the Mentalist.  Besides the enjoyment of watching Siman Baker (what a doll), I have learned to pay more attention to the small details.  I love trying to figure out who the criminal is at the end... and most times I'm wrong.  Great show that I have set up to automatically DVR because I can't miss it!

"The Mentalist " captures my attention so fully with it's witty and interesting plots! Simon Baker is so handsome and quirky in his role as Patrick Jayne. Stunning! The others characters are so richly developed as well. What a perfectly inventive show! Way to go writers! I hope it's on for many seasons!

What a fun show! We can sit down as a family and watch. No blood and gore, no violence, and the antics of Patrick Jane are adorable! We love this show and find it refresing to have a show we can all sit down and watch and enjoy!! It's so hard to find family friendly tv anymore so this is certainly a welcome change.

This has an interesting premise and back story, and each week the plot is new and different.  I enjoy watching this very entertaining series, but think that the writers need to have more about Patrick himslf in every episode because he is what makes the show different from every other crime drama.

This show offers all the drama of the CSI shows with a twist of humor.  The humor comes in when a consultant for the show, a former physic, offers his services to help solve cases.  It's humerous and keeps you on your toes all while trying to solve murder mysteries.
