Quick View: I am a huge fan of LUSH's solid massage and moisturizing bars but I have found one that is every bit as good as LUSH's - maybe better! The Honey House Bee Bar Lotion is a fragrant solid bar of delicious hydrators that leave skin soft but never greasy. And it's all natural!

About The Honey House Bee Bar Lotion

Although this product is called lotion, it is actually a solid hexagonal bar of natural oils and butters. There are two sizes - 2 ounces and a purse size .6 ounce bar - and three scents - vanilla, lavender, and unscented. They all come wrapped and in their own tins with an imprinted of a bee on the bar.

I have the vanilla bar. It's delicious smelling. My husband likes the scent better than any LUSH product I own and just about anything else I use. That's saying a lot since I have dozens of scents of creams, butters, lotions, and massage bars. Whenever I use the Bee Bar, he seems to buzz around me much more. You can't pay too much for that kind of reaction!

To use, just glide the bar over moist or dry skin. This bar is never greasy and doesn't go on heavy. It is absorbed immediately and leaves my skin super soft without all the grease that many solid lotion bars can leave behind. The scent is amazing! It's a fresh vanilla with a touch of honey. I have smelled the lavender bar and that was also quite nice. The unscented one is great for those who need moisture but don't want anything to clash with their perfume or who have allergies to scents. I can't imagine not using the vanilla scented bar because the scent is half the benefit.

The Honey House suggests leaving the bar exposed on a glass plate for display and use by guests. It will not dry out if it isn't put back in the tin. I keep mine in the tin because I don't want to share it with anyone! Haha.

The ingredients for the vanilla bar are: Ingredients: Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Jojoba, Lanolin, Almond Oil, Vitamin E, Bees Wax and the Vanilla/Fruit fragrance.

The Lavender and unscented have the same basic ingredients just with Lavender essential oils or no fragrance.

A two ounce bar is about $10.00 and should last several months. Mine has lasted three and it's barely any smaller than when I got it. I really like it and I plan to always have a bar or two on hand. It's great for moisturizing on the go when I don't have time to wait for greasy lotions or butters to absorb and my skin feels so soft! The scent is a real bonus.

The company makes Belly Bars (for pregnant bellies), several scents of lip butters, and gift boxes of assorted items in beautiful boxes.

My Viewpoint

The Honey House Bee Bar Lotion bars are wonderful for those who like solid moisturizers or those who prefer all natural products. The bars last for a long time, moisturize without messy greasiness, and have delicious scents. The packaging is special too. I love the tins! These don't seem to melt in hot weather like LUSH's bars do for some reason. 5 stars. So indulgent yet affordable! Not to mention my husband can't seem to walk by me when I have the "lotion" on without remarking about how good I smell and how soft my skin is. After 25 years of marriage, I consider that a minor miracle!

Yes, it is around the net. I was at www.beebar.com a few days ago. I was considering buying a few items as gifts.

That is where I bought my Bee Bar. It's a good site and charged the least of most sites I have seen the bar on.

Roadwarrior wrote on Aug 4, 2008 at 11:57AM

Bee Bars are also available at www.beebar.net. They usually ship next day.

Hi. Don't know if it's OK to post it here, but it can't hurt, I guess. My wife loves this stuff and buys it at this website - www.creativenotions.net.

I only mention it because it seems that people are saying it's hard to find, and my wife sings it's praises (she suffers from eczema).

I also wrote a review on it :)

Hey, I have spent all kinds of money on stuff you reviewed. lol. It's a sickness. Or an addiction. Or something. :)

Ocean Salt is harsh if you like gentle scrubs and Buffy is even harsher. I like to really scrub the heck out of my body now and then. Sugar scrubs are best for sensitive skin. Skindecent.com makes great scrubs that are gentle and melt away. All natural too.

Hmm, I am not really one for scrubs, they are always harsher than I anticipate, and I end up itching. I love Each Peach, am wearing some now. Soft touch.... I will look into it. Today I was lost in New Orleans and found the LUSH store here. So very exciting. Next time I come here I will make time to vist (I was late for a manicure/massage) otherwise...

This bar is only available online unless you happen across it at a little gift shop or some place like that. I got mine at www.everythingevergreen.com but a search will bring up several sites that sell it.

I can pretty much live without any of the LUSH soaps although I do like Sexy Peel, Sultana of Soap, and Sandstone. I have to have Ocean Salt scrub (It's fabulous), Buffy body butter (which is really a super harsh scrub bar for the body), and I like the Soft Touch solid bar for hands. I like Each Peach solid bar too. Smells like lemon!

In response to PattyTherre's comment from May 24, 2008 at 2:55PM:

What are the ones you can not do without at LUSH, so far the only soap I love love love is the fig scented one, and if they made in in a lotion I would stop with the soap and stick to the lotion, as it is the scent I love. I also really like the massage bars for dry winter skin. Since you have tried more products I am interested in the ones not to miss.

In response to LoveisJoy's comment from May 23, 2008 at 2:28PM:

Oh yes! LUSH has several of them called body butters which they aren't. They are solids. I like the Bee Bar a lot and it lasts for ages!

PattyTherre wrote on May 24, 2008 at 2:55PM

In response to TaraLee's comment from May 22, 2008 at 9:28AM:

I couldn't do it. I know I have more stuff than I could ever use but when something new comes along, I just gotta have it. I am sort of losing my lust for LUSH because I have been disappointed so many tames but there are a few things I cannot go without no matter how much they cost. Then I end up adding several things I CAN go without to my order. *sigh*

It's really quite a nice bar. I am a bath and body products junkie and like solid bars best because of the ease of use and the hydration they give me.

LoveisJoy wrote on May 23, 2008 at 2:28PM

I didn't know there was such a thing as a lotion bar. Now, I'm intrigued. Another item to put on my "check this out" list. :)

Well, with two sons and husband in the house, I never have to worry about anyone going near my stuff. I did, however, note that SOMEONE is using my cherry blossom body wash. And it ain't me. Scary thought...lol

AHhhh Patty, if only my teenage daughter could learn this as she "borrows" (and never returns) every item in my make up, hair care and shower! Or maybe I am just selfish and don't want to share my toys!
