I had hartford insurance for about 6 years, both auto & home.

I never had a claim. I moved from the northeast to the south a few years ago. I found that their rates were not very competitive in the south. Allstate was a major player as was State farm. The policy that was offered to me by The Hartford was very restrictive with a lot of exclusions in the homeowners area. The Hartfords auto policy was competive with the Allstate & statefarm. Rates for the homeowners were about forty percent higher with the hartford. I went with allstate and consequently had 2 claims within a one year period. Allstates service was flawless.
