We have been with hartford for several years. recently we receved a notice of cancellation because they had received info that my daughters license had been revoked. when we looked into it the reason it had been revoked was because when she had a recent accident, she did not have her insurance card. & therefore no proof of insurance. when we called hartford & told them why her license was suspended they said it did not make any difference why but the policy could not be reinstated. although it was not completely their fault, they did know we had insurance, they carried it. when we asked to speak to an underwriter i was told that underwriters did not speak to customers. this was totally ridiculous. i was an underwriting manager, i never got off that easy!! after calling back 3 times i became very insistant that we speak to an underwriting supervisor. after speaking with her she understood the problem. she contacted the bmv & confirmed insurance, she then reinstated our policy. once we got to speak to the proper person our issue was resolved. the hardest part & most frustrating was going thru the red tape of getting to speak to the person who had the authority to help us. as far as the accident, there was no problem with the way it was handled the claims department were professional & effecient.. of course, this could have all have been avoided if my daughter had her insurance card with her. i gave her that message loud & clear!! overall, we have been very pleased with hartford
