I found one of these Gonzo odor eliminators in a Christmas Tree shop of all places in with their cleaning products , quite a few years ago now . My finished cellar has a persistent dampness no matter what I try to do and it has knotty pine on the walls so I really wanted to keep the moisture and odor out . I think the reason this works is activated charcoal which is a natural moisture absorber and is recommended for eliminating dampness but this " bag of rock " is so easy to use and less hassle than buying a big bag of charcoal and placing it in bowls , etc. It is encased in a mesh like cover so I just hang it on a nail in the cellar by the mesh handle. After a month or so , in order to reactivate the odor eliminating properties, I simply place it out in the sun on top of a trash barrel for a few hrs and place it back in the cellar on the nail . It works wonderfully and it lasts for years if you keep " reactivating " it in the sun. It is so simple to use and forget about and it lasts forever - it does not just mask odors , it actually acts like a natural cheap , dehumidifier and no mess or fuss like emptying a dehumidifier or those damp rid containers . Works perfectly as advertised !

I found this bag at a home improvement store and picked it up on a whim.   We are a multi-cat household and will do anything to keep odors under control in that room that doubles as a laundry room.  After trying multiple air fresheners, plug ins, etc. with no success, I figured this would be worth a shot.  It was low cost (approximately 5.00) and definitely worth the try. We placed the bag right on top of the litter boxes and noticed a difference within an hour or so.  Our laundry room is not that large, but it also doesn't close off, so odor control is difficult. This bag not only removed the odors, but it made the air in the room feel lighter.   The only downsides I see to this product are it leaves a white thin dusting on the surface of the table, etc. where it sets.  It wipes away easily, but almost gives the feeling that the rocks are breaking down.     Additionally, over time, I have noticed the odors returning.  Perhaps the bag just needs to be "recharged" out in the sun. Either way, I would still recommend this product as I know it does make a difference.

I found this at home depot with the cleaning supplies. It is a bag of valcanic minerals,and is very easy to use and it actually works,it is very amazing. I had an odor in my kids room that I could not seem to get rid of,so I went to home depot and found this. you cut the plastic off and put it in the room somewhere,under the bed,chair. When I first brought it home I just laid it in the middle of the room and shut the door and a few hours later I entered the room and noticed a differance. it will work for a room up to 600sq.ft. I went back the next day and bought one for each room in the house.
