I actually just began reading recently as a hobby when I quit smoking. I needed something constructive to do with my hands. I was given "The Gift" to read and I found it to be a gift. As most of Danielle Steele's books, it is quick reading and she pulls you right into her story within the first couple of pages. I have read a few of her books now and this one is by far the best one. Her characters are so loving and perfect and you feel like you are in her stories and you become one of their friends or family members. You can never go wrong with one of her books, but THE GIFT is one you cannot miss. It is her best. Without giving away plot or characters, just make sure you don't miss this wonderful story. You will pass it to others you love as a gift to others in your life.
The only repetitive thing about Danielle Steele you will notice after awhile...all her books seem to have a similar story situation. A very happy homelife scene seems to get struck with some horrible sudden tragedy situation. It seems to be a theme through many of her stories. The tragedy happens and then how the characters deal with the tragedy. Neverthe less, her books are fast reading and very enjoyable with great characters and some great lessons in love and inspiration as well.
