The Game Plan Review Summary

Many Viewpoints moviegoers expressed that they weren't looking forward to seeng The Game Plan, figuring it was just a macho football film starring the wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, yet they were all pleasantly surprised, finding The Game Plan didn't have much to do do with football, and was better defined as "baby girl twists macho dad around her itty-bitty finger." Johnson stars as "a kindhearted, though self centered, football star that unexpectedly finds out he's the father of a cute, independent 8 year old girl," played by Madison Pettis, costar of Corey in the House. While most reviewers found The Game Plan to be the perfect family movie, it was also noted that there were a few scenes that drag on. If nothing else, you get to see The Rock in tights, as he plays a tree in his daughter's ballet recital. Sound like a good plan to you?

To the PointOnce again my mom and I decided to go to the movies. I like to take her to comedies and to movies that aren't too complicated. We chose The Game Plan and I am so glad we did! — A Closer View — Ok so I never heard of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who plays an egotistical, rich and famous quarterback for a Boston football team. The fact that he's so good looking is not something he has to play! I didn't know this hunk but it seems that he's been in other movies and was a professional wrestler which explains the body. — I've read a few reviews. One I read said that… read full review »

The Game Plan is a nice movie to rent for family night. It has a little something for everyone. Th Rock is in a lot of shots that highlight his muscles, there is a football theme for the sports fans, humor and the most adorable eight year old girl. — — The Game Plan didn't strike me as good enough to see at the theater, but we rented it and watched the DVD at home. My five year old has no interest, but that is to be expected. My nine year old son enjoyed the movie. He thought there were a lot of funny parts and liked the dog as well. — — I am not a football or… read full review »

CUTE MOVIE and I rate The Game Plan  "E"  for EVERYONE can watch it! — — It is so very obvious how this movie will turn out, but it is fun watching the twists and turns and how little Madison Pettis wraps "The Rock" around her wee finger. Can you imagine Dwayne Johnson as a tree in a children's ballet recital? — — Fun for everyone. I saw it in a theather filled to capacity. The 6-10 group was howling. The parents seemed happy. My 70yr old husband was impressed, and he is rarely impressed by a movie. No socially redeming value, no sex scenes, no… read full review »

My boyfriend and I rented this movie because it was one of the only new releases that were available at the video rental store.  We weren't sure how good it'd be, since this is not the kind of tole "The Rock" has played before. — We were both pleasantly surprised.  For the most part the movie was pretty funny.  Sometimes it seemed like it could be a little far fetched, but still believable.  There were some great "feel good" scenes too. — The movie itself, was kind of predictable, but still worth watching.  "The Rock" did a great job in this role, I hope… read full review »

I thought the movie was an all around great movie. It is a classic family movie with so many hilarious scenes and a touching undertone. If there was any sort of downside to this film, it would be that there are a few scenes that kind of drag on, but overall this is a classic family comedy that can be watched many times… read full review »

First of all, I did not want to see this movie.  When I saw the commercials all I could see was the Rock hamming it up for the cameras and overacting.  The little girl in the movie is part of the TV show "Corey in the House', which I find boring and not well acted.  It looked like a bunch of other movies I'd already seen and I had no desire whatsoever to go.  However, I have an eleven year old daughter who felt differently.  She was dying to see this, and I am a sucker. — The positive to this story is that I loved the film.  Yes, the Rock was hammy, but… read full review »

The Rock....in tights.  This feel good comedy about family and responsibility has it all.  Great acting, a tight story, a more than capable cast, laughs, cries and cheers. —    Joseph Kingman (Dwayne Johnson) is the star quarterback for NFL team the Boston Rebels.  He has a great apartment, good friends and a loyal fan base.  Everything is going great until the daughter he didn't know he had shows up at his door.  Peyton (Madison Pettis) is his head strong, confident, charming daughter who will stop at nothing to make her dad proud and… read full review »

Disney does it again.  Although somewhat predictable, there were a few unexpected twists.  The Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson portray a kindhearted, though self centered football star that unexpectedly finds out he's a father of a cute, independent 8 year old girl.  I like his friendliness as a father.  It wasn't that unrealistic... "I don't do kids" attitude that movies like to portray on newly discovered fathers.  Cute, clean, and realistic.  There was one scene that bothered us as parents, the dance instructor (played by Roselyn Sanchez) looks "cold" though… read full review »

When a friend said he wanted to see the movie "Game Plan," I groaned. I had never heard of the movie. I'm not a fan of The Rock, although I enjoy (and collect) Disney. This was a fantastic movie. It had a little 'sports' humor, but it was the most touching story that I have seen in a long time, while providing many laughs. The girl who had never met her father  (running away from school to meet him), the father who had never been a parent, and the love that develops between the two has, unfortunately, become a classic story. Fortunately, this one has a happy… read full review »

The Game Plan starring Dwayne "The Rock " Johnson as a cocky stuck on himself football player whose life gets turned upside down when he finds out hes the father of a precocious little girl. No longer can he be the selfish ladies man, he finds himself quickly becoming less macho and more tender hearted. I really enjoyed this movie, its funny, heart warming and the characters are all so loveable. If looking for a good family movie that attracts all ages adn types, this would be a great choice. —… read full review »

The Game Plan with the Rock was a great children's movie. Not what i exspected at all! Its funny, touching, moving, sad, and happy all in one. Not for younger kids to watch they woudlnt really know what was goin on. Great for father daughter night at the movies or something like that.  It shows a different side of the rock that people need to see. Over all i think it was a great movie to see. Not a waste of money thats for… read full review »
