The First Years Soothie Baby Bottle Review Summary

Premature babies have special needs and The First Years Soothie Baby Bottle is designed to meet some of those unique challenges. The First Years Soothie Baby Bottle is praised by reviewers for its ease of assembly, its perfectly sized nipple, and its comfortable hold. The design of the Soothie Baby Bottle also helps to eliminate air pockets so your baby doesn’t spit up as much and get tummy aches. The First Years Soothie Baby Bottle is “One of the Best Baby Bottles for a Preemie Baby”. The Soothie does have a few issues, such as leaking/spilling. It is also not easy to find, since only a handful of retailers carry these bottles. The First Years Soothie Baby Bottle is still a well liked baby bottle that is still recommended by most of our reviewers.

My daughter was born just over 8 weeks early. After a hard fight for her life, we were able to take her home. I was taking blood pressure medications, and was forced to stop pumping. We searched for a bottle that was not only safe, but easy for her tiny mouth to use, and variable flow that she could... read full review »

Originally, I thought I was going to be anti pacifier.  At the hospital, however, I caved to a friendly nurse with a soothie in hand.

Switching my baby from breast to bottle was MURDER.  He didn't want to drink from a bottle at all.  We tried various kinds until I had a brainstorm: Do they make a bottle...

I have Soothie bottles and Avent bottles and my daughter favors the Soothie bottles as well as the Soothie pacifiers.

Pros:

Bottle lid snaps onto bottom of bottle, making it easier to keep track of the lid.

Bottle comes with snack cup which also snaps onto bottom of bottle. For super easy outings with my baby, I fill a bottle with water and then fill the snack cup with the right amount of powder formula so when my baby is hungry, I just snap off the snack cup and pour it right into the bottle and shake. Quick and easy! When my daughter starts drinking something other than formula I can use the snack...

After trying many different kinds of bottles with no luck, we finally decided to try Soothies by the First Years. All other brands were too narrow for my son, but Soothies has a wider based nipple that he was able to get a good grip on with his mouth. Not to mention they are super cute with the smiley face on the nipple!

When I was looking for a bottle for my breastfed baby, a friend suggested the Soothie bottle. I had already tried the Avent bottles for my son, and he didn't like them. I was willing to try anything. I was aware of the Soothie pacifiers, but didn't know they sold a bottle with a similar nipple. I found the Soothie bottle at Walmart, which is very convenient for my family. I bought a 6 oz bottle with the stage 1 nipple to give it a try. Can I just say at how ecstatic I was when my son actually took this bottle and didn't have trouble with it? It was a Godsend for us. As he grew, I bought the next... read full review »

I tried several different baby bottles before finally finding one that worked for my son. My son was born 4 weeks premature and has a severe under-bite that may require surgery. My pediatrician recommended the Soothie bottle and also said that there was a pacifier with the same design and brand name. We purchased these bottles and they are wonderful! My son can use these bottles with ease and they fit his mouth. No more milk leaking from his mouth and he does not gag on the nipple. These bottles are reasonably priced and also come with my favorite design on them- Winnie the Pooh! I also like the... read full review »

I have been using the soothie bottles from the time my baby girl came out of the hospital. It was very difficult for my baby to adjust to any bottles since I was also breat feeding. The shape of the nipple on the soothie bootle make it easy for the baby to transition from breast feeding to bottles. I highly recommend this brand of bottles to all mothers. I also like the fact that it comes in different styles colors and characters. I personally had the winnie the pooh bottles and my daughter loved them. What also sold me on the product was the fact that the nipples and the pacifiers are the same...

I LOVED this bottle!!!My son is no longer drinking out of one but when he was this bottle was the greatest..He has alot of health issues and had spent his first year of life in and out of the hospital for various surgeries and this bottle was the perfect bottle for him..He loved his SOOTHIE paci while in the hospital and this has the same nipple which didn't confuse him like some bottles do with newborns...plus once he was done eating we would give him his Soothie paci and he still thought he had a bottle in his mouth and would fall asleep(with the hazard of gas and choking on milk)...i would recommend...

I love the soothie pacifier , so I thought that I would try thier line of bottles. Boy, that was a waste of money. Baby doesn't take to them like the pacifier, the nipples are tough, they leak like crazy, flow too fast for newborn, and they are sorta hard to clean.

The only bottle I recommend is the playtex original nurser with drop in liners.

When my daughter was born I decided to breastfeed her but due to an allergy she developed at around 6 weeks she wasn't able to continue nursing. At the hospital they had given us a soothie pacifier and it was and to this day is the only one she will take so when we went to buy bottles we bought several kinds including the avent, Dr brown and soothie, the only ones we could get my daughter to drink out of were the soothie. The shape of the nipple is very close to breast and if you are doing both then the transition from one to the other is easier for the baby. The bottles were also very reasonably... read full review »

Soothie bottles are good for younger children, but when they get a little older the child can push the nipple back into the bottle causing milk to spill out. The bottles are very round and may be a little difficult for younger babies to hold on to. Also, if the bottle is left on it's side, milk with spill out onto the carpet. I love'd though that they came with cute pictures but the overall performance of the bottle left alot to be desired.

I absolutely loved the Soothie brand bottles. I had used a Playtex bottle before and had so much trouble because there were so many pieces. I knew right away when I became pregnant with my second child only 18 month after having my first that I defiently needed something different. I looked around for several months during my pregnancy and talked with several of other moms that I knew to see what they had used or reconmmened. I also knew I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on getting started because I knew I would need to have at least six bottles to get started and I had seen some of the starter...

My youngest child who is now 9 weeks old was 5 weeks premature.  Before she was born I had successfully nursed my other 4 children.  Due to her prematurity and jaundice she was a very lazy nurser.  I tried several bottles to supplement her with and also to get her used to before I had an abdominal surgery when she was 5 weeks old.  These bottles were the only ones that had a slow enough flow so she didn't gag while eating and that she didn't get gassy after eating. Also she was able to easily latch onto the nipple.  She also was used to the nipple shape because she had the same pacifier... read full review »

I loved these bottles for various reasons.  The first being because she loved the soothie pacifiers and the nipples are the same on both the pacifiers and bottles.  Therefore we knew she would like the bottles.  The bottles also come with different stage nipples referring to the flow of the milk.  I liked this because as my daughter grew and as her appetite grew the flow could grow also.  At the same time my daughter could really control how much milk she was getting by how hard and how much she sucked.  They are extremely easy to clean up.  I would just throw them in the dishwasher and...

These Soothie bottles made by The First Years are excellent. We had this baby in our home and he was using regular bottles and spitting up a lot. He would spit up every-time he would eat. He was using the soothie pacifiers from the hospital. I saw the soothie bottles at walmart and thought wow, I wonder if those might help with the babies spitting up so much. Well we bought two of them and took them home. I fed the baby with one of the soothie bottles right away and it was the first time since he was born that he did not spit up. I wondered if it was just a coincidence so I tried not to get to...
