The First Years Soothie Pacifier —
With my second child, the hospital doled out a freebie pacifier which I thought I wouldn't need. My first child had no interest in a pacifier. I was glad that I kept it. When I went back to work, the sitter couldn't get the baby to settle down and the only thing that would calm him was the Soothie Pacifier that they gave out! Luckily they have a website where more may be purchased -- http://www.soothie-pacifier.com/. They also sell something called a Wubbanub, a stuffed animal that attaches to the pacifier. The baby holds the stuffed animal and in doing so keeps the pacifier in his mouth. If you get one of these from the hospital, hold onto it! You may need it!
