The First Years Massaging Action Teether Review Summary

Teething is not a fun part of life that all babies go through. Some are simply miserable for months on end, others run fever, have diarrhea and simply have a very bad time cutting little toothies. The First Years Massaging Teether comes in different themes and is one of the items that our moms recommend to have on hand when teething begins. Overall, the First Years Massaging Action Teether gets high approval ratings from reviewers who loved the gentle massaging action, where only a few reported that their babies “just weren’t interested” in this colorful teether that also substitutes as a cute little hand toy. My daughter will chew on this but for short periods of time. The vibration seems to be too much for her. She prefers the cold on her teething gums. I have put this in the  fridge but it just doesn't get cold like those liquid-filled rings that she loves. Quite frankly, when she is in full-blown teething... review »

When my sixteen month old cut her first eyetooth, I realized the worst of teething was not behind us. Not only were the canines more painful to cut, but my toddler was a much bigger "baby" about the whole teething thing than she was as a stoical young infant who didn't know any better. After trying what felt like every solution in the AAP child care book, I found this old teether in the depths of my diaper bag and offered it without much hope for results.

My daughter did not get much use out of this teether as a small baby. The star was too big to comfortably fit in her mouth, and she had to bit...

This was given to me as a gift.  At first my daughter had no interest in it since she was still an infant and this is pretty big for a baby.  Now that she is a toddler she loves putting this in her mouth when it's cold. I give it to her in her crib before bedtime.  It no longer vibrates however and I didn't look into changing the batteries.  That sounds like it could be cmplicated from the review I just read about this.

My daughter started her teething process at the age of 4 months. And buy the time she reached 5 I was trying just about anything to help soothe her gums. I remember that my now 6yr old daughter had a vibrating one similar to this and LOVED it. So, I went to BRU and lucked up when I saw that they had one. My baby girl loves this too. Its actually her favorite thing to chew on (besides my phone and remote controls...lol).

*Bonus* I just went and pulled out my 6yr old vibrating teether and IT STILL VIBRATES after all these years...lmbo

I absolutely loved this teether.  I first discovered this back 10 years ago when my now 11-year-old son was teething.  I was desperate for anything to help sooth his sore gums.  I bought him a teething star and he loved it.  No more crying with pain.  Even when he got several teeth he still loved to bite down on it and make it vibrate in his mouth.  He said it tickled.  I could not have asked for anything better so when my now 2-year-old daughter came along of course I had to go out and see if they still made the star teether and to my surprise I found that they did.  She was very late... review »

We bought this for our first child after thinking it was a neat gift that we had given to several others before having kids ourselves.  Oldest is now 4 and half, and the batteries are finally just running out in time for #3 to start teething.  Very young babies may not be able to use the vibrating feature unless you hold it down for them, but older ones will love to play with it, even if they aren't teething.  I was just at Babies R Us to replace it for #3, and they were out of the star, but they had a "John Deere" version that was in the shape of corn on the cob.  It doesn't have the 3 different... review »

After looking high and low for this teether (several Toys R Us' were out) I ventured into a Rite Aid while on vacation and found it.  My husband thought I was kidding when I said I heard great things about it.

I eagerly gave it to my then 9 month old son and he loved it.  From then on, when he'd teethe, I'd give it to him and he'd be fine.

He's 2 now and I find him playing with it once in a while.  So it's a pretty long lasting teether as well.  I wouldn't know how to change the batteries in it if I had too.

We'll be getting another one for DS#2.  I just wished they came in different...

I have used this teether with all 3 of my boys, and have more than one laying around at any given time. They are wonderful, and have made teething more bareable for my boys! I now give it as part of all my baby shower gifts. I find it to be a nice change for the tradition teether ring that goes in the freezer and is hard for little ones to hold because of how cold it gets. The different texture at each point gives the baby something new to chew on each time it is given to them.  The only con I can think of that really gets me is the cost, but can you really put a price on your babies comfort at... review »

My son is a horrible teether has been cutting teeth since 3 months old, is now 8 months and is cuttting all top 4 teeth at once. We have been letting him play with this toy since     3 1/2 months old. He loves it. He will sit there and let it massage his gums for  good while.  It just allows his gums to be soothed and the rattle of the vibrations of the massager causes the spinner at the bottom to spin and make a neat noise which my little boy loves. It is very affordable and worth more than you pay.

We received this as a gift for our daughter, and it was one of the best things she was ever given. While teething it helped soothe her, and also provided entertainment. I expected the battery to give out since she used it so much - but it never did.

I think it was a  good item, and if we have another child it will be one of the "Can not live without" items.

I do wish it were dishwasher safe - but you can't have everything.

I had this product for my first son whe he was born 3 years ago.  He loved it and it was one of the only teethers that he would use and it would calm him and make him feel better.  It has a great easy to hold handle and the vibrating really helps to relax your little one.  When I was pregnant with my second son, it was one of the first things that I went out and bought before he was even born!  We all loved it.

This is a GREAT teether! Before she figured out how to bite down to get the vibration we held the corner and let it massage her gums. It's one of the first toys she reaches for out of her little toy bin. She loves biting on it and it really does seem to soothe her nicely.
