I absolutely love this product the first years has definatly won me over again and again over these last few years as a new parent. and the first years full size bed rail is by far my new lifesaver. or shall i say my new sleep aid! for me and for my two year old big boy after transisitioning to a big bed after my sons crib was recalled we had a horrible time keeping him in bed because he was used to rolling over in to the sides of his crib this bed rail stops that and is soft enough not to hurt a baby at all. it goes uneder the mattress and has a strap that hooks onto the mattress and keeps it in plzce night after night and i have not had to adjust it since firt install it has remained secure! first years is definalty a new faveorit company for making sure excellent childrens products and really keeping my babies safetey in mind the whole time. Next time i am in need of babie products i will check if they make it first since i am so happy with them and this railing!

The First Years Full Size Bed Rail works great

4

We bought the first years full size bed rail when our first child was one year old. He had just learned how to climb out of his crib. We were worried that he was going to hurt himself climbing out so we put him into a regular bed. He was to young to have no railing so we got the first years full size bed rail. We like this bed rail because it covers more of the bed but leave a little space for him to climb down. We have never had a problem with him falling out of bed while sleeping. It was very affordable and we are still using it even now. We have had it for 4 years now and it has held up pretty well. The fabric has ripped in one section but I was able to repair it. One thing I wish is that you could get it in more than one color. The only color I could find was a blue color which doesnt really match the decore of the room. We have also used it on our convertible bed with our other children and it seems to fit ok.

First Years Bed Rail is great but not for all cribs!

I purchased the First Years full-sized Bed Rail for my oldest daughter when we converted her crib into a toddler day bed and it worked very well for her.  Before buying this bed rail, we had several nights where she would roll out of bed (we made a soft place to land with pillows and stuffed animals), but we never had this problem after installing the bed rail.  I like that it is reusable and works with many types of beds, and I also like that it has mesh so it is breathable and if the child lays against it, they can still breath easily.  I also like that it is simple to install and only takes a few minutes to attach to the bed.  All of that said, when we converted my youngest daughter's convertible crib from a crib to a toddler day bed, the first years bed rail would not work with her particular type of bed because it has a wooden board that goes across the front of it to make it more stable, and the bed rail cannot fit beneath the mattress while this board is attached.  I would definitely encourage those who are considering purchasing the first years bed rail to be aware of this issue in case your crib also has that wooden support beam for the toddler day bed because this bed rail may not work with your child's bed.

Very Helpful

We purchased this bed rail for our 3 child.  We have sinced used it for 3 more children.  It is very well made and sturdy.  Ours still looks like new.  It does the job of helping your child stay on the bed.  Before we purchased the bed rail our daughter kept falling out of her bad and it was very upsetting to her wich is understandable.  She was very tired during the day and so were we being up every night.  This helped keep her in bed and off the floor and we all got a great nights sleep.  It would be nice if it came in a variety of colors so you could match your room a little better.  I also wish it broke down easier for storage but I guess that might make it so it wasn't as sturdy.  Overall I think we have been very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone who needs something to help their child not fall out of the bed.  It's great insurance for a good night sleep and a great way to make the transition from crib to bed.

Perfect for transition to bed

We got this bed rail when we transitioned our 2 year old to a twin size bed from her crib. We were mostly looking for something to keep her from rolling out but also to make her feel still enclosed in her bed. For what we needed it for it does work but the design could be better. It slides easily from under the mattress. It took a while to get it to lock in- even when the color showed red and locked it will pop back up. It seems a little unsturdy when leaned on with any weight and our daughter will often use it when getting in and out of her bed which is unavoidable. For the price though its a good buy. I like the mesh to it so when she is sleeping near it I dont have to worry that she cant get air. The fold down feature is nice as well so it doesnt have to be taken off to make the bed. When up and locked though the blankets cannot hang over the bed side. Ive always liked First Years products and will use this again for tansitioning our other child.

Bed Rail works great

We just bought the first years full size bed rail when we moved and for space sake needed to move our two year old daugther to the guest bed. I was very nervous about moving her from the crib to a bed but we bought these rails and have been very pleased. They were easy to put together and are very sturdy. The stay in place and while for an adult they are not hard to pull down for changing sheets, they are not at all easy or even perhaps possible (knock on wood) for our two year old to pull down. They were not very expensive but they were definately worth every penny and I was surprisingly amazing at how well made and strong they are. My daughter will kick them and push and pull on them but they stay in place and keep me feeling safe at night. I would highly recommend these to anyone who is transitioning a little one into a real bed. I promise that you will not be disappointed with your choice.

Reliable bed side rail

When it was time for my daughter to graduate into a "big girl bed", we were concerned about her safety.  Though the bed is not far off the ground, her falling out of bed would mean interrupting everyone's sleep and the possibility of being minorly hurt.  We decided to use this bedside rail.  We like that the rail has a mesh side, so we don't need to worry about her suffocating.  We also like that the rail securely adjusts open and then shut again.  It is made of a nylon like substance, so it is wipeable.  It also slides easily under the mattress.  The one thing we do not like about this rail is that it does slide down the bed a bit.  We are not sure if this is because she has a fairly thin child's mattress or if it is the way the rail is made.  Either way, it has done the job and kept her from falling out of bed.  It is easily collapsable, so we were able to bring it on vacation with it when visiting relatives!

We ended up purchasing a bunk bed when our daughters both came of "big kid bed" age.  But almost immediately we noticed some problems.  The railing on the top only extended 2/3 of the way across, leaving open space.  For a our oldest child that flips around continuously (she's a thrasher or "mobile-sleeper"), the possibility of her coming through that open space was fair and no pillows were going to stop her. We found the First Years bed rail and felt it was a reasonable price to give a try.  We were able to tuck it in beside the established railing on the top bunk (she has to climb over when going up) and it works really well.  And with nearly 50 lbs. of force banging into it, it really holds it's own.  We also put one on the younger daughter's bottom bunk, to show her to stay in, and it is much easier to deal with than pillows. The two things I like best about this railing is that the cover is easily washable and metal pieces easy to clean (great advantage after a nighttime tummy bug).  I also like the fact that when raised, it clicks quietly.  I like to lay in bed with my youngest and read her to sleep, so once she's asleep, I roll out, and click it gently into place. The girls loved that it came in pink.

Versatile bed rail

We bought this bedrail once my son started rolling to use on our couch for his naps.  It was inexpensive and well made. Also, it folds up fairly flat for storage and is sturdy, but not heavy. I am looking forward to using it on his crib when he graduates to toddler bed. I think it will fit perfectly and be very secure. His crib also become the headboard for a Full size bed, so it is perfect that is also fits that size bed. We will be getting many years of use out of this product and it was very easy to find at our local store. I have not yet gotten many uses out of this product, but have many plans for it in the future. It was easy to put together and required no tools, which makes me more comfortable with its quality. I am sure it will keep my son safe from rolling off of his bed or our couch for many years to come. I would recommend this product because of its price and quality. I would like more color selection though.

Bed Rail

3

When our first child was ready to move out of his crib and into a twin size bed, he looked so small! And the bed looked so high! I was terrified that he would fall out and get hurt so I insisted on buying this bed rail. I really liked how there was no way he would be able to fall out. I thought it was very secure and never worried about it malfunctioning.  There were some things I did not like: 1. This bed rail was pretty hard to use. Every time I lowered the rail to change the sheets or make the bed it was difficult to get back into position. 2. This bed rail made it difficult  to make the bed. 3. This bed rail left an indentation in the mattress after prolonged use. 4. There was no way to wash this bedrail and the fabric got very dirty, particularly after being used by several children. All in all, though, I was glad we had this product. I slept better at night knowing my children were not going to fall out of of bed using these.
