The First Years Breastflow Complete Starter Set Baby Bottle Review

This review is for "The First Years Soothie/Breastflow" bottle which costs between $6-$7 per bottle and worth every penny!.    I began using this bottle a few days after coming home from the hospital with our child.  I wanted to breastfeed as well as use a bottle, for convenience sake.  This bottle allowed my husband or other family members to get in on the fun of feeding the baby without the worry of "nipple confusion".  Nipple confusion can be an issue with the baby takes a bottle and then does not want to breastfeed because the bottle nipple is different or the flow (how fast the liquid comes out of the nipple) is too fast.  This bottle eliminates that issue!

This bottle comes in 5 parts.  This may sound complicted but it really is simple.

The first part is the plastic bottle itself, with easy to read ounce markings.

The next two parts are the double layer nipple.  The outer nipple is shaped like a real breast nipple, but the inner nipple is elongated, fitting into the outer nipple. These two parts easily connect and easily disconnect for easy cleaning.  The use of the two nipples together recreated a breastfeeding flow.  The baby has to "work" the outer nipple like he would the breast to get the liquid out.  The flow is slower than other standard bottles and since the nipple is breast shaped he found it easier to suck the liquid out without it running out of his mouth.

The other 2 parts include a ring to hold the nipples in place and a tight cap.  We had no problems with leakage when using this bottle.  I definately recommend this for any mom who wants the convenience of bottle and breastfeeding her child!
