Oddly, I never got to see The Fifth Element when it was in theaters, but made up for that with a DVD rental over the weekend. It turns out that The Fifth Element is a lot of fun, as long as you don't think too much about the plot. This French/American film is more about style than it is about substance.
The Fifth Element starts in Egypt in 1914, with an archeologist working in a crypt of some sort. Large ugly space beings soon appear and the crypt turns out to be more than it seemed. Events then shift 300 years into the future, where Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis) is a former Special Forces officer...
review »Before I start this review, I have to confess something. This is my favorite movie of all time, and I've seen it 36 times since it came out in 1997. But I assure you, this will be an unbiased review. Even though I will be praising it, it will only be because it really is a good movie.
Plot: In the very distant future, a cab driver, Korben Dallas, is unwittingly thrown into a series of events that will ultimately determine the fate of the Earth. He must find a legendary cosmic weapon to stop the incarnation of pure evil from destroying the planet.
This movie has it all. Action, romance, drama, and...
review »Not for the realist...if you don't dig sci-fi, leave the room! Totally for the sci-fi lover, this one is fantasy all the way, futuristic adventure and comedy permeate every scene and you won't be bored...it keeps popping!
I read the bio of the writer and discovered that he penned this movie and Milla's entire alien language at 16. Over 800 words in all. Very inventive for a teen.
Bruce plays a cab driver who happens to be in the wrong place at the right time to pick up a beautiful, stranded woman who is anything but typical. Milla has escaped from a military lab compound where she had been...
review »When I first saw the preview for this movie (nothing but Mila Jovovich mostly naked on a building ledge), I honestly had no desire to see it. But it was on T.V. at some point, and I had nothing better to do. I'm so glad I finally watched this movie! It really was funny, exciting, some good serious acting from some people, and just fun to watch! The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars was because it was exactly the same as most films with the "hot" girl aspect, and it just got old.
The fifth element is pack with great fight scenes and the special effeft are tremeddous
with a bit of comedy and wit which will make you laugh and bruce willis is graet
