Oddly, I never got to see The Fifth Element when it was in theaters, but made up for that with a DVD rental over the weekend. It turns out that The Fifth Element is a lot of fun, as long as you don't think too much about the plot. This French/American film is more about style than it is about substance.

The Fifth Element starts in Egypt in 1914, with an archeologist working in a crypt of some sort. Large ugly space beings soon appear and the crypt turns out to be more than it seemed. Events then shift 300 years into the future, where Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis) is a former Special Forces officer...

Before I start this review, I have to confess something. This is my favorite movie of all time, and I've seen it 36 times since it came out in 1997. But I assure you, this will be an unbiased review. Even though I will be praising it, it will only be because it really is a good movie.

Plot: In the very distant future, a cab driver, Korben Dallas, is unwittingly thrown into a series of events that will ultimately determine the fate of the Earth. He must find a legendary cosmic weapon to stop the incarnation of pure evil from destroying the planet.

This movie has it all. Action, romance, drama, and...

Not for the realist...if you don't dig sci-fi, leave the room! Totally for the sci-fi lover, this one is fantasy all the way, futuristic adventure and comedy permeate every scene and you won't be bored...it keeps popping!

I read the bio of the writer and discovered that he penned this movie and Milla's entire alien language at 16. Over 800 words in all. Very inventive for a teen.

Bruce plays a cab driver who happens to be in the wrong place at the right time to pick up a beautiful, stranded woman who is anything but typical. Milla has escaped from a military lab compound where she had been...

Egypt 1914 - An English man reads the inscription on the walls. He sees something odd about the 4 elements (water, air, earth, fire). There seems to be a 5th element in these drawings. Suddenly it all gets dark. A spacecraft has landed right above the temple. Huge armored aliens come out. The aliens want some stones because they say war is coming and the stones are no longer safe on Earth.

300 years later - A huge meteor is floating in the air. The army is trying to destroy it. Father Cornelius tells them not to shoot because "evil begets evil.. shooting will only make it stronger". Of course they...

this movie started good it was alot of action! it was slow in the beginning buti liked how the aliens were rid of kinda funny. bruce did well. the  movie also had great science fiction.. some people think that the fifth element is weak because bruce is old. we all get old. chris tucker may be loud ut just how  he his. If you came from the hood how would you be, think about it,he has other movies that r good. rush hour is decent plus,  I had dis friend who died or associate and he like died and he was pratically just like chris tucker in fact thats how people saw him,but back to the point... review »

When I first saw the preview for this movie (nothing but Mila Jovovich mostly naked on a building ledge), I honestly had no desire to see it. But it was on T.V. at some point, and I had nothing better to do. I'm so glad I finally watched this movie! It really was funny, exciting, some good serious acting from some people, and just fun to watch! The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars was because it was exactly the same as most films with the "hot" girl aspect, and it just got old.

great movie, good scenes, great action ,great cast, phenomeonal graphics and fight scenes, bruce willis and chris tucker did great in this film at times it look like bruce was trying not to laugh at what chris was doing in the film,  one of  jonovich's best performance that she has done other than resident evil ,wish they would make some kind of sequel to it,

The 5th Element is the wackiest action movie I have ever seen.   I swear it's a combination of a satire and a shoot-em-up flick.  Very entertaining and a must watch for anyone who is a fan of sci-fi movies.  This are some really bad supporting actors, but the main characters do a pretty good job of taking up the slack.  Go rent it, it's worth a couple hours even if you just laugh at it :)

One of the best movies of all time in my opinion. You can't easily beat the combination of Milla Jovavich, Bruce Willis, Chris Tucker, and Gary Oldman.  The special effects are very good for its time.  Gary Oldman is a fantastic villain, as he's proven in other films, such as Leon : The Professional, and Milla Jovavich is always an outstanding bad-ass.

I love The Fifth Element it is one of my altime favorite movies. It is funny and action packed. I love Milla Jovovich ( Resident Evil) she is great. The film is far fetched but fun to watch. Lots to laugh at and exciting moments. The story is silly and some of the concepts are stupid. The movie as a whole is great.

This was one of my favorite movies.   The best part was the scene with the blue opera singer, and they cut back and forth to the fight scene.   That song gives goosebumps.
