The Entertainment Book —

I have been buying the Entertainment Book for about 10 years now, and I don't know what I would do without it.  I have lived in California, Hawaii and Virginia and have been able to get an Entertainment Book in each state.  When moving to an unfamilar place, it is so helpful to have Entertainment Book coupons to rely on for great discounts and buy one get one free meals in new areas.

There are several different sections to an Entertainment Book.  There's what I like to call the fancy section, which are restaurants that take the "card" form of an Entertainment Book coupon.  The "card" is a card similar to a credit card, but it has numbers on the back of it that restaurants scratch off once you have used their "coupon".  Then there are the "regular" restaurants.  That is where you will find places like local eateries that are casual but not necessarily order at counter and take home, they are more like local treasures.  Those are my favorite places to seek out because I love to try new restaurants.  After that are the "casual" restaurants or fast-food type places.  There is also a section for local activities like miniature golf, bowling, dry cleaning and department store coupons.

The Scoop!

The price of an Entertainment Book varies depending on the state, but in general they range from $30-45.  However, it quickly pays for itself.  You probably save hundreds of dollars using an Entertainment Book.  Not only that but you get to find new places that you might not have otherwise known about.  I will buy an Entertainment Book every single year they are available!

Looked up info last night and was glad to find that they listed all the places in the book online. For me, there were just as many places in the San Gabriel book as in the Los Angeles book (which is more expensive). L.A. book has a lot of Westside places and I'm in the Northeast between Pasadena and Glendale (Los Angeles but closer to San Gabriel). Thanks for your help.

Since you live in L.A. , I highly recommend you buy one. You will discover some great places that you never even knew about. Those little Mom & Pop places seem to be my greatest find. If you do buy one, please let me know how you like it. The new books come out in November and last one year, so it would be a good time to buy one since you haven't missed much of the month.

Thanks for the comment which led me to your site! I've always wondered about The Entertainment Book and never really taken time to check it out. But now is the time for "casual" meals!
