The Eiffel Tower —
Yes, it's crowded. Yes, the lines are long. Yes, there are beggars who try to get money from you. Yes, it costs too much to ride the elevator. I couldn't care less.
The Eiffel Tower has meant PARIS! to me all of my life. Once I finally saw it with my own eyes, I knew I'd finally made it to the city I'd dreamed about since I was a little girl. My husband took me to Paris for our 20th anniversary and it really was a dream come true. I loved seeing the tower from different places in the city. And I loved eating at Altitude 95 in the Tower where we had a window table and watched the sun set over the Trocadero. I planned for that months in advance, calling for a reservation 2 months before our trip and looking up the sunset time so that our meal would coincide with that. Well worth the planning as it was glorious! I loved being on the ground and looking up through the Tower and seeing the amazing architecture. I just loved every minute of our time there.
Oh...if you time it right, go across town to the Montparnasse Tower and go up to the top and then watch the Eiffel Tower twinkle away on the hour. You can also get a great view from the Trocadero, but depending on the time of year, it's cold outside at night!
