Good fountain, but the Drinkwell Platinum is the best!

Pros

cats love to drink from water spout, cats love the running water

Cons

motor can burn out if dish is dry, not easy to clean out

I bought this fountain several years ago. While cleanup is almost painful, both my cats loved it from the start.
I disagree about the length of time the info sheet claims the water lasts - that really depends upon the cats and if you purchase the extra reservoir. However, the bonus is that because the fountain filters the water it's not necessary to clean out the bowl and provide fresh water daily. The fountain does that for you!

Recently I purchased the Drinkwell Platinum - almost twice the price, but it comes with a *massive* reservoir and is *very* easy to clean. I kept the old Drinkwell for out of town trips with my cats. It's smaller and fairly easy to pack.

Definitely would recommend either the old Drinkwell or the Platinum for anyone that's concerned with the health of their pets.
