This book was much better than I expected. — Credulously well-written and entertaining, THE DIRT tells the story of the formation of Motley Crue and the early years of the members. It is naughty, gossipy, and good plain fun. — People might suspect that a book written by rock stars would be formulaic and amateurish. Not this book. I suspect Neil Strauss (the co-author) had a big hand in forming the tone of the book, but it is still impressive. Some of my favorite parts were when the Crue wrote about the tragedies and problems. The Dirt: Confessions of the worlds most notorious Rock band was absolutely one of the greatest reads I have ever picked up. From right at the beginning it is interresting, and shows a serious tone to the times and changes in the four rocker's lives.
