I love many of the books by Dean Knootz!

In The Darkest Evening of the Year a lady rescues dogs and attempts to develop a relationship with a man while hiding a troubled past. He has unresolved baggage of his own and sometimes helps her in her rescues and is present when she bravely stands up to an...

I purchased The Darkest Evening of the Year by Dean Koontz because I like Dean Koontz!  The second reason was that there is a dog on the cover and I knew I really enjoyed his other dog book - Watchers.  I was hoping this story would also involve a smart dog and some fun sci-fi stuff and it did include... review »

Reminescent of some of his short stories, Koontz gives us believalble characters facing great odds. The good vs. evil, his main them, is a bit overplayed, but the story line is gripping and fast paced. As in his book The Taking, there are strong spirtual notes. As Koontz has matured as a writer he has moved beyond simple horror stories and explored more of the evil within all of us. This book satisfies as well as entertains- and it touch deep chords about how we know, trust, and rely on truth. Well worth your time.

Fantastic book. Almost all of his books are. No one is perfect, but he sure comes close when it comes to writing outstanding books. One of his books is usually on my Christmas list.
