I am not going to go into great detail here, if you have watched any tv in the last few months, then you know what this movie is about, you know who is in it, etc, so, just my opinions. I am not a huge action movie person, and definitely not one for all the super hero/comic movies, but have liked a few, Batman Begins being one of them. My husband is a HUGE batman fanatic and has been since childhood, so, I hopped on the batman bandwagon years ago, therefore making me excited about this movie from the minute Batman Begins ended, showing the jokers card. I am not a comic book reader, and don't get into the back stories, but from what I know of Batman, I think the Joker is probably my favorite of the villians connected to Gotham city, so, again, this movie was a no-brainer. Add the gorgeous Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/batman, and the late Heath Ledger as the Joker, and I was hooked.
I bought our tickets the day they went on sale, got the babysitter lined up, and we anxiously awaited this day. I DO NOT like clowns, so I knew this would be a little creepy to me, but surprisingly enough, the Joker didn't freak me out as much as the masked clowns, but, don't get me wrong, he was frightening, just not in the clown way. I am a Heath Ledger fan, but wondered if all the oscar buzz might be from his way too soon death, but after seeing this movie and his performance, NOPE, the hype is deserved. If I hadn't know that it was Heath playing the Joker, I wouldn't have guessed it in a million years. He was TERRIFIC!!! I hated him, loved him, felt sorry for him, laughed at him, and you name it! Christian Bale is wonderful as Bruce/Batman and, in my opinion, he is the best actor they have had for that role. Love Alfred, Harvey Dent, and on and on. If you saw Batman Begins, then you will have an idea of how this one is. The graphics and sound is as great as the other, and it picks up as the other was. Lots of action, fighting, chase scenes, explosions, etc. A little romance, but not enough to ruin the movie, since it doesn't fit in much with the story. This movie delivers the action, thrills, laughter, and many other emotions. It is very dark, I thought more so than Begins, so not one for the young kiddo's. If you liked Batman Begins, you are sure to love this one. At over 2 1/2 hours, it is a long one, but I was hooked the whole time. Once the hype is over, we will be seeing this one again!!!!

I think you hit that nail on the head! I'll be doing something I rarely do, going back to the theater and seeing it again.
