I found this website to be very helpful and informative. You plug in your current weight and then add everything you eat each day. If you do any exercise, that needs to be added. They have lists of common brands of food which makes it easier by simply clicking. I do so much better when I have to be accountable and believe me, logging it under my profile makes me accountable. You even need to chart how much water you drink, which is a good reminder. The basic site is free. There's a gold level which is about $25 for three months and you get extras but I haven't signed up yet. There are discussion groups you can join and that doesn't cost anything either.
I would highly recommend this website if you want to lose those extra pounds.
