The Da Vinci Code  —

Brown's book is a fun read.  The writing style is tight, and the subject matter is compelling.  Character relationships are well defined and developed.

This book is much better than the movie version because there are no gaps in the storyline or the relationships of the characters.  If you've already seen the movie, starring Tom Hanks, you will notice that the book is organized in a similar fashion, but incorporates more background information about the main character.

The information about the places (historical information) is interesting and useful without being wordy or  distracting from the forward momentum of the plot.
