The Da Vinci Code  —

The Da Vinci Code is a very fun book to read.  I enjoyed it very much and it would be obvious to say that it was better than the movie.  It was a fast read and kept my interest the whole way.  The biggest downfall is that this author seems to use nearly exactly the same plot for all of his books; so, if you've read any of his other books, you might not want to waste your time.  Really religious people may have problems with this book; however, it is a work of fiction.  It has many interesting ideas, but is not to be taken too seriously.  If you are deeply religious, this book should not shake your faith, but instead provoke thoughtful consideration of the history of your religion and its view from the outside.  Some people may not think it is very well written, but I enjoyed the way the book jumped from the middle of one scene to the middle of another.  It simply works in this case as this book is meant to be jumpy and suspenseful.
