The Cleveland Clinic - Florida - Weston, FL Review

My experience with the Cleveland Clinic - Florida began a little over a month ago when a serious digestive system problem being suffered by my mother-in-law continued to worsen.

For quite some time we had endured the medical care that is South Florida's.  I refer to it in my more polite moments as McMedicine.  This is a brand of medicine that features long office waits, lost or misplaced records and a "move'm in, move'm out" managed care mentality.  If you have questions, better ask them fast and don't make them too tough.

Fortunately for us, a friend who is also a Doctor, recommended someone who practiced at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, FL.

For years I have heard of the excellence of the Cleveland Clinic.  But, as a Floridian, what did that have to do with me and mine?  Cleveland is an awfully long way away.

Well, sometime during the last few years, the Cleveland Clinic developed a medical center down here, a massive center that really does seem to place the patient first.

You get this impression from the very moment you enter the facility.  You get no impression of the churn'em and burn'em attitude of so many other South Florida Medical Centers.

The Cleveland Clinic is a multi-disciplinary facility that handles everything from Family Practice to the most arcane disciplines.  All physicians practicing here practice only here.  So, in general, when you have an appointment here you can expect to be seen approximately when you would expect to be seen by your appointment time.  What's more is that patients are treated with patience and dignity.

Over the past several weeks I have made several trips with my in-laws to the Cleveland Clinic and each time come away with a very positive attitude.  Maybe even more important, my in-laws have as well.

If you choose to make the Cleveland Clinic your Primary care facility, there is the added advantage of your records being digitized in a standard fashion that can be shared (and understood) by other members of their staff in different departments.  I like that.

My Viewpoint

How much do I like the Cleveland Clinic?  I'm going to move my medical care there.  That's saying a lot.

I hope you have no reason to require more than routine medical care in the near future.  But, if you're in South Florida, keep the Cleveland Clinic in mind.
