Plot
The beginning of the movie really threw me off. It begins with a scene I totally did not expect. There were fighter planes flying over and bombing a city. Then I saw 4 kids and their mother in the city running for the bomb shelter. I guess I had false assumptions about the plot, but it all started...

I would like to start off by saying I would recommend "The Cronicles of Narnia," to not only teens but also to adults. I read this book slowly and with many breaks, it's one of those types where you can only take it for so long. The book starts off with the first story '' THE MAGICIANS NEPHEW,"...

To be honest, though I like C.S. Lewis’ writing, I’ve never been fond of his Narnia books. They always seemed rambling and derivative of Baum’s Oz novels and Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings. With the benefit of modern special effects and all-around beautiful visuals, the movie version of the first book in the series is a breezier, more enjoyable experience.

The introductory theme of wartime England hits harder, so when the four Pevensie children are evacuated from London, only to find even more threatening warfare in a fantasy world found via a vortex in their uncle’s country mansion, the...

An excellent family-fantasy film that is faithful to this particular book in C.S. Lewis' series which is myth and hero making but not directly based on any religious dogma. (latter books in the series had a more direct relation to the new testament).

Four London children are sent to live in the country to avoid the World War 2 London Air Raids. The films brief prologue isn't effective for adults and might be a little too scary for small children.

Their life there is much more suppressed in their new highly regimented home, until the kids discover the mysterious wardrobe which is a portal to a magical...

The Chronicles of Narnia is a set of 8 books written by C.S. Lewis.  He is friends with J.R.R. Tolkien (Lord of the Rings).

They are both English professors.

When I was watching this movie I instinctively made comparisons between the two film genres.

Both are concerned with children conflicting with injustice and tyranny in a heroic manner.

There are long journeys of self discovery and enlightment, resulting in the good triumph over evil by the children.

The children interact with the natural world often in a divine way.

In conclusion, I felt the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe to be overly...

The way C.S.Lewis transforms a morality issue into an intriguing drama with four, lovely lost children is compelling. Anyone could identify with the discovery of an adventure from a hide-and-go-seek game in such an enormous house that transports the viewer into that never-world that must be out there - the soul's longing for more than this world. So what does the Lord of the Universe do about the errant ones? Does anyone get off scott-free? Why does anyone especially children have to battle the forces of evil? Are we not all children of this world wanting more than anything to get to the next... read full review »

This was a great movie. Some tense moments but a great movie.

The movie was clean. Although some say it is not suitable for children, I had no problem watching this movie with my 6 year old son. This story has so many lessons. Most notable, that no matter how badly we mess up in life, we can be forgiven if we set our bad ways aside and are truly sorry for what we have done.

So yea, this movie is a lot of fun... I usually keep it on while I "study", and because of this, I had memorized the entire script... (not sure if that is necessarily a good or bad thing...?)

Anyhoo!  It is a lot of fun to watch, and keep watching!  :)
