The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian —

Being a long-time fan of C.S. Lewis' Narnia books, I was delighted when The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe came out.  With the recent release of Prince Caspian, my delight continues.

Before I saw this movie, I had a few friends tell me, "It's not as good as the first one."  They lied.  The story didn't stray too far from Lewis' original plot, the acting was superb and the computer graphics were amazing.  I also enjoyed the fact that the parallels to Christianity were a bit more subtle than the first film.  It makes one think more this way.

It was good to see Warwick Davis on the screen again as the black dwarf Nikabrik.  He seemed to draw on previous characters here for inspiration.  I'd say one-third Willow and two-thirds Leprechaun.  Personally, the character Reepicheep, voiced by Eddie Izzard, stole the show for me.  The gallant mouse-knight came to life on screen as vividly as in my imagination when reading the books.

We again get to witness the faith of a child through Lucy, the youngest of the four children   It is only she who sees Aslan at first.  The mighty Lion still takes your breath away with his first appearance.

In closing, I highly recommend this movie to anyone who's read the book, liked the first movie or enjoys fantasy fiction in general.  I'm also closing here to prevent any spoilers coming out as well!
