The Bucket List deals with issues about what really matters in life when given a timeline to death. Two old men, played by Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, are told they only have a few months to live and they decide to make the most of their time by completing tasks on their "bucket list." From skydiving to trips to Cairo, the men find not only the adventure they are seeking, but a sense of rebirth as well. For the movie viewer, we are faced with questions that we normally like to keep in denial, such as whether we married the right person, if we should mend rifts between loved ones, whether or not we are too stubborn for our own good, or if we are simply wasted talent. The men face temptation and emotional difficulties throughout their journey that begs the question, "Why do we wait until our time is almost up before we really pay attention to the important things in life?" Now, although some of the activities these men endeavor would not make it near my own bucket list, it still had the effect of making me want to create my own. Now, if I just had half of what Nicholson's character has financially, I'd be all set.
The Bucket List contains some adult humor and bad language. There are parts in the movie where things slow down, but these help to provide insight into character issues.
