The Bourne Ultimatum Review Summary

The Bourne Ultimatum is a "worthy third bite at the Jason Bourne apple." A tense, heart pounding thriller that ties the trilogy together, many reviewers feel the latest installment of this action movie is the best of them all. The Bourne Ultimatum keeps you on the edge even when you are reading the credits, with action scenes that are thrilling and believable. Playing Jason Borne in the other two films as well (The Bourne Files Collection) Matt Damon makes the role very relatable. A few reviewers found problem with "too much blood" and a shaky fast-paced camera that had some feeling nauseous. Overall, as the last in the series, Bourne Ultimatum was a great way to wrap up an exciting trilogy.

I just got back from seeing the very first showing of The Bourne Ultimatum. I was hesitant about how well Matt Damon would pull off a secret agent type role but, once I saw The Bourne Identity (the first in the trilogy), I was amazed and hooked. I saw The Bourne Supremacy (the second) in theaters… read full review »

Jason Bourne is coming home, despite the efforts of the CIA, which manages to stretch the limits of believability at both ends of the spectrum in the third installment of this trilogy. I left the theater an hour ago, and my heart is still racing.  I have never been to a movie that had such non-stop action, real heart-pounding, armrest-gripping, jaw-dropping, adrenaline-rushing action and suspense.   This movie was GREAT !   Fans of the tv series "24" will recognize the feeling, but not the severity of enduring it for two hours.   WOW !   Matt Damon starts running and never stops, except to kill someone before they can kill him.   — The bad guys (David Strathairn, Albert Finney) are really bad,… read full review »

Bottom-Line: A worthy third bite at the Jason Borne apple. — Bourne is back, and this time he coming home to New York City-eventually.  As I stated in my review of The Bourne Supremacy, some action movies can be judged solely on their 'money scenes': those fistfights, car chases, gun battles, and explosions that can make or break a film. Not so with the third and final installment in of Robert Ludlum's suburb spy novels, based on character Jason Borne, The Bourne Ultimatum; it feels more like one long action sequence; from the opening frame to the closing sequence, there is scarce… read full review »

Familiarity with the American movie going public is a good thing if you want to have a hit.  Audience would rather pay $9 or $10 to see something familiar with familiar characters before seeing something truly original.  Thankfully, there is the occasional time where familiarity is welcomed.  The return of the Jason Bourne character in The Bourne Ultimatum is just one of those times.   — For those unfamiliar with the Bourne story, it goes something like this:  Jason Bourne was a CIA operative who was left for dead.  He survived, but when he woke up, he… read full review »

I was excited when I heard the Bourne Ultimatum was coming, so I could finally find out who David Bourne was, and what would happen to him.  The Bourne Ultimatum was exciting, and very entertaining.  You had to pay close attention to everything going on, so you wouldn't miss anything.  I have watched this movie several times now, and I keep noticing things I missed on the first go round.  If you haven't seen it, then make sure you do a.s.a.p., it worth every minute of you… read full review »

I liked all three of the Bourne films and this wrapped it up nicely. Great action sequences plus good acting. I especially liked the sinister performance by Davis Strathairn. Matt Damon carries the film well. The opening sequence at Waterloo station in London is really intnese and there is a great car chase in NYC. It also has the underlining message of when does the governemt go to far in the name of national security, a very relavant topic in post 911… read full review »

One word . . . . . BARF! — I would have loved to have been able to concentrate on the extremely complicated plot, but the fact is, I couldn't keep my eyes open long enough to get anywhere.  The filming of this movie made me so sick I had to walk out for a few minutes and get a (four dollar!!!!) bottle of water.  Such a shame! — … read full review »

Thoroughly enjoyed the other Bourne films and was looking forward to this one.  Spent more time in the restroom on the verge of hurling than I did in the theater.  I think it was due to the way the action scenes, which were many, were filmed.  I'm prone to motion sickness so it just may have been my sensitivities but was very… read full review »

Another winner for Matt Damon. He really lucked out when he signed on for the Bourne series. I love how this movie delves deeper into Jason Bourne's past and explained how he came into being. The fight scenes are a little unbelievable but who cares? I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting the next… read full review »

I love the Bourne series!!! I waited for this movie. I am sad that this is technically the end of the series although there are more Bourne books.  It is the best "gritty" thriller out there. I have read all of Ludlum's books. — PLEASE make more!!! —… read full review »

The Bourne Series is totally action-packed, and this one definitely didn't let me down when it came to keeping me on the edge of my seat and engrossed in the movie. I do agree with other reviews that some of the action scenes are enough to make a person dizzy, but I didn't think it was so bad that I would have to stop watching the movie. It wrapped up everything we wanted to know about Jason Bourne and still kept up the pace with the two previous movies. It made the series a great collection.… read full review »

This is a great movie all around. — — Now we are talking about the third installment in this series and it has the things that separate it from bad sequels: — — 1. Strong story. — — 2. It gives just enough of the back story so you aren't lost — — 3. The same actors continue to play the same characters. — — 4. The same director, so it continues with the same vision. — — I am not a big fan of Matt Damon. As a matter of fact the only movies that he has done, that I enjoy, have been the Bourne movies. But he is great in… read full review »
