I have been really been getting into tangy pink grapefruit scents for my body washes, moisturizers, etc. over the past year.  I started with Skindecent, moved on to Bath & Body Works, and recently landed with the Body Shop pink grapefruit products.  For some reason I really enjoy using products with tart, tangy, true pink grapefruit scents.  The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter is my newest experience in the line and I have to say that it is just okay.

This lip butter contains things like shea butter, castor seed oil, beeswax, and grapefruit seed oil.  It is sold in a 0.29 ounce (10 mL) jar for $6.00.  This product is pink in color and has a very strong and true pink grapefruit scent.  This stuff is thick and firm, so much so that I have only managed to melt and move a thin layer when I apply it to my mouth.  I am a big fan of a thick layer of lip product, so I usually go back for seconds and thirds when I am applying The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter. 

My main issue with this product is that it disappears so quickly.  Even if I manage to get a semi-thick (and semi-opaque) layer onto my mouth, it is quickly thinned out thanks to speaking and absorption into lips.  I really like the scent of this lip butter and would be willing to pay the somewhat expensive price again... but it just doesn't linger long enough on my mouth.  Sorry, Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter, I wanted to love you but it just isn't going to work out.
