The weather in New York where I live is so unpredictable that it really takes a toll on my lips. They are often dry and sometimes cracked. I recently received the Body Shop Mango Lip Butter as a gift. I normally use Blistex so this was a new one for me. As soon as I twisted off the cap the smell of Mango was so delicious that I wanted to eat it! Unfortunately, this is not edible. When I licked my lips they tasted like wax!
The Facts
My Experience
This Body Shop Mango Lip Butter costs $6.00 for a 0.3 oz. round container. The size may sound like a little but it goes a long way. This lip butter is applied with your finger which I found to be a little bit of a pain. I have medium to long nails and the lip butter would get stuck underneath my nails. Once I did get it applied, there wasn't a need to reapply it every ten minutes because it lasted a good long time. The lip butter made my lips soft and hydrated. I use it in the summer and the winter to protect my lips from the sun, wind and the cold.
The Final Viewpoint
The Body Shop Mango Lip Butter is an effective product to have on hand for those harsh days when you want to protect your lips or if they just simply feel dry and you want a little hydration. I keep mine in my purse. I would say this is an average lip butter that I do recommend but feel that it only deserves a 3 star rating. If the application method was different and the taste of wax wasn't so prevalent, I probably would have gone with 4 stars.
